Sir John Stewart 1st of Cardney      Per Burke's: "Sir John, 1st of Cardney (whose mother Mariot was sis of Robert of Cardney, Bp Dunkeld), was ancestor of the Steuarts of Cardney (see BURKE's L.G. 1952 edn, STEUART MENZIES of Culdares). His present descendant in the male line is The Menzies of Menzies, Ch of Clan Menzies (see that family)."

     per van de Pas: "John Steuart was an illegitimate son of Robert II, King of Scots, by Mariota Cardney, daughter of John Cardney and sister of Robert Cardney, Bishop of Dunkeld 1396-1436. In 1394 John was mentioned as being educated at the University of Paris. On 12 February 1399 he received the lands of Cardney from his half-brother Robert III, king of Scots. John was knighted on 21 May 1424. He died in 1466."1,3 Sir John Stewart 1st of Cardney was also known as Sir John Steuart 1st of Cardney.3

     George Washington Susong was buried; Seclusion Bend graves marked with a double stone. He was born on 2 February 1835 at Tennessee, USA. He married Susan Eleanor Stokely on 15 October 1868.1 George Washington Susong died on 16 March 1889 at Tennessee, USA, at age 54.
     George Washington Susong A confederate soldier. Because of illness he had to leave the army but furnished a substitute. Discharge papers signed Jan. 19, 1863 by I.J.Duych, Commander Co. F., 64th Reg., North Carolina.

     Sir Walter Halyburton younger of Dirleton was born circa 1380.2 He married Marjorie Douglas, daughter of Sir Archibald "The Grim" Douglas 3rd Earl of Douglas, in 1403.1,2 Sir Walter Halyburton younger of Dirleton died before 10 May 1447.2
     Sir Walter Halyburton younger of Dirleton per van de Pas: "In 1403 he married the Dowager Duchess of Rothesay, who bore children before dying in 1421. He was knighted on 21 May 1423 and in 1424 went to England as one of the hostages for King James I. In 1430 he became one of the Wardens of the Marches, then on 5 July 1438 was appointed Treasurer of Scotland which he remained until he died in 1447.2
