; per van de Pas: "In 1494 he was married to Beatrice Herries but, on 25 November 1495, he signed a contract to marry Lady Janet Douglas in which he undertook to divorce Beatrice. However, he then repudiated both wives on grounds that the marriages had taken place in his minority, then married Nicholas Home and by her fathered his son and heir.

In 1507 and 1508 he was outlawed for killing George Sinclair, of Highfield, but was pardoned before 12 December 1508 at the intercession of the Queen of France. Along with the King of Scots and the flower of Scottish nobility, he was slain at Flodden on 9 September 1513. Before 24 January 1516, his widow married Patrick Hepburn and was still alive in July 1529."2
