; per van de Pas: "Sir George Throckmorton, of Coughton, was the son of Sir Robert Throckmorton, of Coughton, Privy Councillor to King Henry VII, and Katherine Marrow.
     On 26 May 1501 a covenant was made between Sir Nicholas Vaux and Robert Throckmorton Esq, previous to the marriage of Katereyn, second daughter of Sir Nicholas, and George Throckmorton, son and heir apparent of Robert. George and Katherine (Katereyn) became the parents of sixteen children.
     Sir George Throckmorton, of Coughton became an esquire for the body to King Henry VIII; while his brother Michael was the devoted servant of Cardinal Pole and was attainted for high treason. Sir George was returned to the epoch reformation Parliament of 1529, but true to his catholic tradition took a line in opposition to the whole policy of the Government, Henry VIII's divorce from Catherine of Aragon, his marriage to Anne Boleyn, the acts ending all appeals to Rome and the Act of Supremacy. However, he later sought the king's pardon and afterwards served the king in the office of Sheriff of Worcester in 1542.
     Sir George died on 1 March 1553.
