This is based on the fact that Ioannes was the grandson of the sebastokrator Ioannes Doukas, one of the sons of Constantine Angelos and Theodora Komnene, dau.of Emp Alexios I Komnenos. As Ioannes Doukas' unidentified daughter married Michael Kantakouzenos, he was in all likelihood Ioannes's father].2 Michael Kantakuzenos was also known as Michael Cantacuzène.1 He was living in 1195.2
