Mrs. E. H. Shadwell, who would have been 75 on Friday died at the family home southwest of Paris on last Thursday after a long illness and a hospitalization of several weeks. At her own request she had been brought home from a Hannibal hospital on Tuesday.
Funeral services were conducted at the Agnew Funeral Chapel in Paris Sunday afternoon at 2:30, with Reverend Jimmie Jones of Sturgeon officiating. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery at Paris.
Mrs. Shadwell was born at Martinsburg but had spent most of her life in Monroe County. She was the former Miss Martha Elizabeth McGinnis, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John McGinnis.
Surviving are her husband; 10 children; Mrs. Bert Atterberry, Edward and Joe Shadwell, all of Paris; Mrs. Marvin Nordlund and John Shadwell of Mexico; Mrs. Perry Long, Mrs. Bob Schuch, Mrs. Elmer Crim, Mrs. Arthur Johnson and Mrs. J. R. Chapman, all of Hannibal; 16 grand children and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Joseph R. McGinnis, 65, of 1323 N. Washington will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Arnold funeral home. The Rev. Gregory K. Poole, pastor of the Mexico Methodist Church, will conduct the service and interment will be in East Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
A resident of Mexico for the past 20 years, Mr. McGinnis died at 2:50 a.m. Sunday at his home. Death followed a lengthy illness.
Born in Martinsburg, on Nov. 9, 1897, he was the son of John H. and Lillie Hammett McGinnis. His last employment was custodian at the Audrain Hospital.
Mr. McGinnis was a member of the Maple Grove Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Fannie L. McGinnis, to whom he was married on Dec. 31, 1924; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Jo Lederle of 1212 S. Morris and Miss Lila McGinnis, of the home; two sons, Charles Ray McGinnis of 1002 Fieldcrest and Joseph R. McGinnis of Marshall; and four sisters, Mrs. Ralph Thomas and Mrs Jesse Drake of Chicago, Mrs. Homer Slonaker of Mexico and Mrs. Ada Snyder of Webb City. Seven grandchildren also survive.

FORMER PARIS RESIDENT DIES Jan. 25, 1981
PARIS - Grave side rites for Mrs. Ada Snyder, 80, formerly of Paris, will be conducted at Walnut Grove Cemetery here at 1 PM Tuesday.
Mrs. Snyder, who had been residing at a nursing home at Owensville, died at 10 AM Sunday. She was the widow of Theodore Snyder who was a barber in Paris.
She was one of seven children of J. H. and Lillie Hammett McGinnis and the last survivor.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Don Nelson of Rolla; two sons Ted Snyder of San Antonio, TX and Jack Snyder of Corpus Christi, TX; and six grandchildren. There are also several nieces and nephews in the area.

Mrs. Snyder, who had been residing at a nursing home at Owensville, died at 10 AM Sunday. She was the widow of Theodore Snyder who was a barber in Paris.
She was one of seven children of J. H. and Lillie Hammett McGinnis and the last survivor.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Don Nelson of Rolla; two sons Ted Snyder of San Antonio, TX and Jack Snyder of Corpus Christi, TX; and six grandchildren. There are also several Neises and nephews in the area.

Jessie R. Drake, 87, a resident of 501 Cedar street, died at 11:25 a.m., Sunday at Lucy Lee Hospital. She had been ill a short time.
Mrs. Drake was born Sept. 2, 1892, at Vince. She was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church and was an active church worker. Sept. 6, 1911, she was married to James Walter Finlow, who later died. She was married to the Rev. John Drake, who died in 1961.
Survivors include three sons, James Finlow of Mt. Vernon, IL, and Robert Finlow and John Findlow, both of Poplar Bluff; three daughters Mary Daniels and Wanda Talas, both of Chicago and Mrs. Alvie Findlow of Mt. Vernon; one sister Ada Schnieder of Rolla; 20 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Tabernacle Church. The Rev. Louise Copland will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cem. Visitation will begin at 7 tonight at Cotrell Funeral Home.

Clifton A. Craft, 28 years old, died in Florence, Colo., Thursday of last week from the effects of tuberculosis, contracted while in the service. Clifton had been in Colorado only a few months, having gone there in the hope of bettering his condition. The funeral was held at the Methodist Church in Paris, Wednesday, by Rev. W. B. Selah. He was given a military burial by the Monroe County Post of the American Legion at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Cliff is survived by his wife and a baby daughter, also his parents Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edward Craft of Lamar. Anther brother died a short time ago from the same disease. Both served overseas during World War I.

Paul Rathburn will officiate. Burial will be under the direction of the Hedge-Lewis funeral home.
The body will lie in state at the Hedge-Lewis chapel until early Friday morning when it will betaken to the chapel in the cemetery.

Edgar Herschel Shadwell, 89, southwest of Paris died Friday, March 27, at Community Hospital in Moberly where he had been taken that day. He had been in ill health for some time.
He was born in Middleton, Missouri, in Montgomery County, the son of the late Mary Ellen Straube and George Washington Shadwell. He was married to the former Martha Elizabeth McGinis, who died in November 1962.
Mr. Shadwell taught in the rural schools 25 years and for the past 50 years farmed and raised strawberries on the farm southwest of Paris. After the death of his wife, he made his home with a son, Joe.
Survivors include ten children, Mrs. Bert Atterberry, Edward, John and Joe Shadwell, all of Paris, Mrs Marvin Nordlund of Mexico, Mrs. Elmer Crim, Mrs. Faye Johnson, Mrs. Bob Shuck, Mrs. Perry Long, Mrs. J. R. Chapman, all of Hannibal; one sister, Mrs. J. H. Snyder of Paris; 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 at Agnew Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Jones of Sturgeon, officiating. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Paris -- Joe S. Shadwell, 75, of Paris, died Thursday, May 16, 1996, at a Columbia hospital.
Funeral services will be held a 2 p.m. Sunday at Agnew Funeral Home, with burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Shadwell was born May 15, 1921, in Monroe County, the son of Edgar H. and Martha McGinnis Shadwell. On June 7, 1947, he married Mary Gandy at Moberly. She survives at home.
He is also survived by one son, Sherman Shadwell of Paris; three grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and five sisters, Vera McMullen and Madge Nordlund of Paris, Enid Crim and Jennie Chapman of Hannibal and Fay Smith of Lawrence, Kan.
He was preceded in death by on son Howard Shadwell; and two brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Shadwell served in the Navy during World War II. He was a farmer and did carpentry work in the Paris area.
