     John Cox was born on 13 June 1820; Richmond lists birthplace as Miami Co, OH.¹ He married Jane Miller, daughter of Caleb Miller and Phebe Ray, on 26 September 1844 at Springboro Monthly Meeting, Springboro, Warren Co., Ohio, USA.¹

John Cox died in June 1849 at Sugar River, Montgomery Co., Indiana, USA; In June 1849, John was in the company of another man engaged inhauling logs. By accident, a log rolled on him crushing him so thather died in about four hours. He had no children.¹

     Robert Miller was born in 1749 at York Co., Pennsylvania, USA.² He was born in 1757 at Frederick Co., Maryland, USA.¹ He married Cassandra Wood in 1772 at Frederick City, Frederick Co., Maryland, USA.²

     "The first of our Miller ancestry is this country of whom we have any trace is SOLOMON MILLER, who was a miller by trade, was born in England, married there and emigrated with his family to America prior to 1750 and settled in York Country, Pa. One of his children was ROBERT MILLER, who was born in York Country, Pa and in early manhood removed to Frederick County near Frederick City, Maryland and purchased a farm and soon after married MISS CASSANDRA WOOD, a Virginia lady who lived near Winchester, Virginia. They resided upon the farm near Frederick City intil 1796, when they removed to Berkely County, Virginia, where they remained for three years. In 1799 they came to Fayette Country, Pa and settled upon a farm purchased of one Joseph Briggs and now owned by Captain Issac Woodward's heirs. Residing there several years, his wife meanwhile dying, ROBERT MILLER eventually moved into Brownsville and took up his residence on Front Street, upon property now belonging to the heirs to Thomas Moorhouse, and there died in the year 1832. He was father of four sons and four daughters, all of whom grew to maturity".
     - This is from a letter written by our Great Aunt in 1915.
     She and Robert married in 1772, in Frederick City MD. The eight children of Robert & Cassandra are: Solomon, Ruth, William, Sarah, Hannah, Caleb, Mary & David.
     A record of the family transferring from the Hopewell MM to Crooked Run, in Fredrick Co., VA on 6/1/1795.
     I have several records for him, but within the records, there is conflict. There is some confusion, I believe due to the fact that there is a "Cassandrew Wood who married a Robert Miller".
     I will continue to add what I can verify or at least note "why" I am adding information for him on this memorial.
     He is my 5th Great Grandfather, and my hope is to account for his life and get him as linked as possible.
     I believe that Soloman, one of his sons, may have been one of the first generations to leave his Quaker Roots.
