His 2nd wife.1
Katherine Steiger was buried in 1889 at Dresden Cemetery, Dresden, Navarro Co., Texas, USA; From Find A Grave:
Katherine Steiger died in 1889.1
She was a witness to from Ledbetter [2022]: "Medicus' second wife (on our records) was listed as Katherine Steiger. On Family Search and Ancestry it shows her name to be Katie Chancellor and/or Benson but our family records show her name to be Steiger. They had 5 children together. He also married again to Luella Sims but they had no children. A family member, from the second marriage, bought the stone for Della. We bought a marker for M. Lou. last year. A family member told me that Della's mental state got better after she was institutionalized and they allowed her to help the nurses, probably menial tasks.I haven't located an 1870 census for Medicus and Lou. I called my mom, she's 87, and had her look through her file but she couldn't find one either.

"Susannah (Nail) Burk's children have been identified through the selling of their shares of the legacy of their grandfather, Richard Nalle. "Power of attorney: I Richard Burk of the County of Culpeper and State of Virginia having a title to a one-sixth part of an undivided tract of land containing about seven hundred acres lying on Beech Fork of Salt River in Nelson Co., Ky. — which said land was willed to me and my five brothers and sisters by our Grandfather Richard Nail deceased." Since it was difficult for him to attend in person, he said, he was appointing "my friend Abijah Dulany my attorney." The document was dated 1 Sept. 1804. Similar instruments were conveyed by William Burk, 9 Oct. 1802, of Culpeper Co., Va; Benjamin Carpenter and his wife Susanna, 1 Feb. 1804, of Madison Co., Va; and Adam Wayland of Madison Co., Va.4 Edmund Burk transmitted his power of attorney to John Nalle.5 Later in the proceedings Abijah Dulany acted "as for himself" and the other heirs.6 Several documents are recorded in Nelson Co., Ky., concerning the dispostion of the land of "Richard Nalle, dec'd" by his heirs. Culpeper Co., Va., marriage records have identified the names of Susannah (Nail) Burk's daughters and daughters-inlaw.7

However, at this time, I have found any evidence that I feel establishes the parental relationships.
A Nancy Burke died in 1850 in Rockingham co., and a John Burke (her son?) also lived in that county in the 1850 census. I have not found any census records for a William Burke who could have been the father of John and husband of Nancy.
