Mr. Mershon went through the Mexican and civil wars, was wounded four times and in a fight in Stanford, between the two wars, he was shot through and through by a man named Saddler. He was a splendid man, Mr. Mershon informs us, as brave as Julius Caesar and the hardest working man in his county. -contributed by #47516959
