     She was born Bullenbroke Hundred, Talbot Co., MD and died ca.1840-1850, (probably by 1843), Oskaloosa Twp., Clay Co., IL.. Mrd, (1784 Washington Co., PA), Daniel Rawlings, (1755/65-abt.1803). They moved to Kentucky, by flatboat, c.1786, with her father and other family members.
     Sarah and Daniel lived on the Kentucky River, below the mouth of Mill Creek., in what was Henry, but is now Carroll Co., KY. Daniel Rawlings was a devout Methodist and often held services in his home. It's said their infant children and relatives were buried in his garden. There are reasons to believe this the origin of what became the DeMint Cemetery. It seems certain that Daniel was buried in the same location.
     Sarah must be the white female, over 45, in her son Levi's home in Westport, Henry, (now Oldham), Co., KY., in the 1820 census. She moved with Levi, as well as her daughter Elizabeth (Rawlings) Meeks, to Oskaloosa Twp., Clay Co., IL., about 1830. The 1840 census shows a white female, age 70-79, in Levi's household, in Oskaloosa Township, who must be Sarah. Levi Rawlings was in Marion Co., IL by 1850, and married his 3rd wife there May 1843, so a death date between 1840 and 1843, seems most likely.
Sarah and Daniel's known children were:
-- Stephen Rawlings, (b.1785 Washington Co., PA - d.1866 Johnson Co., IN). He married his 2nd cousin Mary Rawlings, (1794-1872), and was the father of at least 10 children.
-- Mary Rawlings, (b.abt.1786 KY - d.aft.1860 Prairie Twp., White Co., IN), mrd John Stewart, or Stuart, (abt.1776 - aft.1860), and was the mother of at least 12 children.
-- Wesley Rawlings, (abt.1789 - aft.1823), never married. He was blind, possibly from an early age. [The county provided some assistance for his care.]
-- Elizabeth Rawlings, (abt.1790/96 KY - abt.1850 probably Oskaloosa Twp., Clay Co., IL), who married John Meeks, (b.abt.1792). She taught in the first school established in Oskaloosa Twp.
-- Levi Rawlings, (b.1792 Henry Co., KY - d.1853 St.Clair Co., IL), married 1st, (1813), Sarah Keaton, (abt.1790-1826); 2nd, (1826), Jane Galbraith Sutton, (1795-1841); and 3rd, (1843), Louisa Van Deusen Burris, (b.1820). Moved to Oskaloosa Twp., Clay Co., IL., ca.1830. [His brother-in-law, John Sutton, also settled there at Sutton's Point, now known as Oskaloosa]. Father of 8 known children, with descendants by all 3 wives.
-- Rachel Rawlings, (b.1795 Henry Co., KY - d,aft.1870 Jasper Co., IA). She married Jeremiah Meek, (b.1794 Henry Co., KY - d.1831, Hancock Co., IN). Rachel had a 2nd marriage, (bf.1833), to Harum Warrum, which ended in divorce. She was the mother of five known children.
-- Rebecca Rawlings, (b.1798 Henry Co., KY - d.1887 Wyaconda Twp., Clark Co., MO), md Nathaniel "Nathan" Cull, (1797-1843). Mother of 4 known children.

     According to a history of Elijah Nuttall, Daniel Rawling's father-in-law, written 1898, by Martha (English) Green, widow of Norvin F Green and grand-daughter of Daniel's sister-in-law Martha (Nuttall) Demint, Daniel and Sarah (Nuttall) Rawlings lived on land between the Kentucky River and Mill Creek. This was part of some 900+ actes of land which Elijah Nuttall bought from Benjamin Craig in the area and bequeathed in his will to his 4 oldest daughters and son Price. Martha Green, whose account derived from stories related by her grandmother, says that Daniel Rawlings was a devout Methodist and had services in his home very often. Then she adds "It was in his garden that he buried the infant children, and his relations placed their dead beside them. And that was the beginning of the graveyard where almost the whole family are buried."
     Sarah and all of Daniel Rawlings' children had died or moved away by 1830, and the Demint Cemetery appears on some early maps as either the Burnt Cabin or Rollins Cemetery, so the logical explanation seems to be that what became the Demint Cemetery originated with these burials in Daniel Rawlings garden.
