In the name of God amen I Edward Domvyl of Lymme in the County of Chester the Elder sicke of body but of perfect memory doe constitut and make this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following -
--First I bequeath my soul into the hands of God trusting only in the merits of his son my savior for the salvation thereof, Next I bequeath my body to Christian buryall and for what goods or power and ability to charge any my Lands with any Rent or Rents which I have reserved to my selfe for the (illegible) of my younger children in one Indenture of Lease (illegible) and it bear my date the last day of August in the 16th yeare of the reigne of King James now deceased of England ffrance and Ireland and Scottland the 32. I doe hereby thus dyspose of the said goods and Rents, after my funeral expenses are charged and debts payed, as followeth -
--First I give and bequeath unto my eldest son Richard Domvyl all those my brewing vessells nowe in or belonging to my brewehouse at Lymme as (illegible) also all those my tables, boxes, stooles and cupboards in my kitchen, milkhouse, hall, Parlour, and buttery there, with all bedstocks, tables and stooles in the chambers within my sayd house of Limme excepting only those which nowe are in the chamber where I now doe and have accustomed to lye and that antechamber within the same which I give unto Elenor my wife, as also I give unto my son Richard Domvyl all my plowes, harrowes, carts, waynes, and Treases with other implements for Husbandry which are nowe in or about my sayd house of Limme.
--Next I give and bequeath unto my son Randle Domvyl for a remembrance five pounds of English money to bee payd within a yeare after my death.
--Next I give and bequeath unto my son Gilbert Domvyl for a remembrance five pounds of English money to bee payd likewise within one yeare after my death.
--Next I give unto my son William Domvyl for a remembrance five pounds of lawfull English money to be likewise payd within one yeare after my death.
--Next I give unto my son Edward Domville for a remembrance five pounds of like lawful English money to be payd likewise within one yeare after my death.
--Next I give to my son James Domvyl ten pounds of like lawfull money to be likewise payd within one yeare after my death, desyring his mother in respect of his youth to take him into her more especial care for his education.
--Next I give and bequeath unto my sayd beloved wife Elenor Domvyl all those beds and bedding with the furniture, shirts and all other necessaryes thereunto belonging with now are or have been accustomed to have been in the sayd chamber which I nowe lye in and the sayd chamber within it.
--Next I give unto my daughter Townsend Kelsall for a remembrance forty shillings of lawfull English money to bee payed within one yeare after my death.
--Next I give and bequeath unto my daughter Katherine Lambert the sum of fifty pounds of lawfull English money to bee payed within one yeare after my death.
--Next I give and bequeath unto my daughters Margaret Hatton, Elizabeth Domvyl, Elenor Domvyl, Susan Domvyl, Mary Domvyl, Sara Domvyl, Anne Domvyl, and Martha Domvyl all the whole remaynder and surplusage of my sayd goods and sayd Rents of four hundred pounds reserved in my power to charge my Lands with those affyxed in the indenture affyxed to be divided among them by equal portions to bee payed unto them or to their (illegible) as it shall bee raysed and become due according to the priority of their birth and yeares.
--Lastly I ordayne constitute and make executors of this my last will and Testament my beloved brother William Domvill of Middleton in the county of Lancs. Gentleman and my cosen William William Domvyl of Limme in the County of Cheshyre Gentleman desyring my brother in law George Leigh of Buxton in the county of Lancs. Esq and my loving friend Charles Herle(?) Rector of the parish church in the sayd County of Lancs (illegible). In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and yeare above written.

The. widow, Mrs. Margaret Hatton, married Lieutenant, later Captain, Richard Banks (Md. Arch., X., 259-260). The children of Richard and Margaret Hatton were: 2. William Hatton, d. 1713; mar. 1st. Elizabeth (living 1675), daughter of Rev. William Wilkinson; 2d. Mary --- (d. 1730), and left issue by his second wife. 3. Richard Hatton of Poplar Hill, St. Mary's Co., d. Feb., 1675.
