BIRTH 17 Sep 1865, Cooper County, Missouri, USA
DEATH 7 May 1910 (aged 44), Saline County, Missouri, USA
James N Unruh, president of the Missouri Valley Mercantile, Co., died at his home 124 North Brunswick at about 1 pm, today, Saturday, May 7, 1910 after a brief illness of meningitis. Mr Unruh has not been will for a week or more, was suffering with some affection of the ear but was able to be at the store. He was there as usual on Monday and Tuesday and for a short time on Wednesday. On Wednesday night he was taken with a severe chill and was, critically ill from the first, much of the time in an unconscious condition. A physician from St Louis, Dr Moore was summoned and arrived on Thursday afternoon and remained until a late train that night. He and Dr Harris, the local physician had much hope of Mr Unruh's recovery and gave the family little hope. However, his symptoms were a little better on Friday and it was hoped that he might get well. There was a change for the worse again last night and his death has been expected almost at any moment since.
This sad and unexpected bereavement came to the almost heart broken wife, brother and sister with crushing weight and the tenderest sympathy of a large circle of friends is extended to them. This couple, who had seemingly such a bright future before them, it would seem might have been spared this great shadow. They had just commenced a new and elegant home on Eastwood and had taken great pleasure in planning their new home, all unmindful that they were in the shadow of this great sorrow. But how true it is that our earthly plans are so often dimmed by these unexpected providences. May the wife and all who mourn for the loved husband, brother, relative and friend be comforted by the thought that it is not death, but a transition to the higher, better life, for which deceased was so well prepared.
Mr Unruh was born at Boonville and was 42 years old last September and was married to Miss Georgia Brown, daughter of Paul Brown, a capitalist of St Louis, fourteen years ago. He with Mr A M Keller, came to Marshall in March, 1906 when the Missouri Valley Mercantile Company bought the New York Racket store and Mr Unruh was made president of the company and Mr Keller, secretary and treasurer.

James Coleman Hudson Sr. was buried after 10 December 1935 at Wright City Cemetery, Wright City, Warren Co., Missouri, USA; From Find A Grave:
; NB: I am perplexed about the wife (wives?) of James Coleman Hudson. His WW I draft card identifies his wife in 1918 as named Nora and there was a 1908 record for the marriage of a JC Hudson and a Nora J. Dissette. in OK. Then they appear in OK in the 1910 census with a 6 month old daughter, named Mary B. However, his 1935 obituary says he married a Wilma Wilks in 1896 (when he was only 14?), and lists three children (Virginia, Robert C. and James C.) Finally, in the 1920 census his wife's name is Wilma and children Mary (aged 10), James Coleman and Robert. It would seem that the new born Mary V. in the 1900 census could be the the 10 year old Mary in the 1910 census since she is listed as born in OK.
I can't tell if James C. married twice (once to a Wilma and once to a Nora), or if Wilma and Nora were the same person (but why call her Wilks in the obitutary?). However, there is evidence that Wilma and Norma were the same person. In the 1910 census, Nora is shown as born in Kansas ca 1893, her father in Canada, and her mother in Ohio. In the 1920 census, Wilma is shown as born ca 1891, her father in Canada and her mother in Ohio. In the 19090 census, there is a Nora G. I can't tell if James C. married twice (once to a Wilma and once to a Nora), or if Wilma and Nora were the same person (but why call her Wilks in the obitutary?). However, there is evidence that Wilma and Norma were the same person. In the 1910 census, NoraI can't tell if James C. married twice (once to a Wilma and once to a Nora), or if Wilma and Nora were the same person (but why call her Wilks in the obitutary?). I can't tell if James C. married twic[sic] Dissette with her parents, and her father is shown as born in Canada, while her mother in Massachussetts (though the "wife" in the household was born in Ohio).
However, in the 1930 census, James and his oldest son, James, Jr., are found as lodgers in St. Louis and he is listed as a widower. Thus either Nora/Wilma had already died or possibly they were separated. The FAG memorial found in California who died in 1972 may not be for the same woman.
There also seems to have been a James H. Hudson who also married a Nora Le Clair/LeClere in 1912 in MO. Some people seem to confuse this couple with James C and Nora (Dissette) Hudson. This is clearly a source of some confusion, but does not seem to explain the presence of a wife also named Nora in James Coleman Hudson's households.6,7,4,8,9,10,11
