The Nettie Brown Gaulden family tree shows a dau. named Lucinda as the dau. of James STEWART and a second wife Sarah MNU. There are also FaG memorials for this couple showing them as the parents of Lucinda. It is not clear to me if the James STEWART in the memorial is the same person as James H. STEWART #101684.
The FaG memorial shows two other children for Jame and Sarah STEWART: a Mry Ellen (1825-1897) and a David (unk-unk), who might be John David STEWART (c1810-unk) #101732. If this James is James H. STEWART #101684, these two additional daughters (Lucinda and Mary Ellen) would help explain the missing children in the early censuses for James H. (1820, 1830 and 1840).
I do not have a good estimate of the date of marriage of James J. and Elizabeth (CLARK) STEWART. I had originally used the DOB of their oldest son shown in the 1850 census, but is possible that James had an earlier wife, Sarah (MNU), and that his first children, John and poss. Lucinda, were by her, and that James J. STEWART married Elizabeth CLARK, later. This would explain the inconsistencies I am finding, but there is no firm evidence for this.
Hypothetically, this could look as follows:
I don't believe that there is enough information to assign Mary Ellen (1825-1897) to a mother (Sarah or Elizabeth).
