"He was one of the leading men of the settlement and died at his post, at a critical time when men of the right stamp could be poorly spared."

If she born in 1687, she would have been only 13 when she married Nathaniel Selleck 25 Jan. 1699/70. Her gravestone says she died "ae 86", which matches being born in 1679.2,3 She married Nathaniel Selleck, son of Capt. John Selleck and Sarah Law, on 25 January 1699/0; her 1st husband; per Jacobus [1930:I:385] the mariage was recorded at Stamford.2,3 Sarah Lockwood married Deacon Benjamin Hickock, son of Sergeant Samuel Hickock and Hannah Upson, on 3 February 1713/14 at Stamford, Fairfield Co., Connecticut, USA; her 2nd husband; per Hickok Genealogy: "married at Stamford, Conn., by Capt.
