THIS INDENTURE made the Seventh day of January in the twenty fourth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the grace of God of Great Brittain France and Ireland, King, Defender of the faith, &c., Annoq: Domini one thousand seven hundred & fifty/51, Between WILLOUGHBY NEWTON of Parish of Cople in County of Westmorland of one part and THOMAS BONUM and SARAH BONUM his Wife of Parish of St. Stephens in County of NORTHUMBERLAND of other part; Witnesseth that THOMAS BONUM & SARAH his Wife in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and fifty pounds currt. money of Virga. to them in hand paid by WILLOUGHBY NEWTON, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge, hath and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto WILLOUGHBY NEWTON his heirs all that tract of land containing One hundred and ninety two acres scituate on POTOMACK RIVER & BONUMS CREEK in YEOCOMOCO NECK in County of Westmorland part of a Patent granted MRS. JOAN POWEL ye 19th Decemr: 1650, which became the Right of DANL. BONUM & by him devised to his Son, SAML. BONUM & the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such to his Nephew, THOMAS BONUM, & his heirs, as by his Will may appear, wch: is dated ye 15th day of October 1732, said SAMUEL BONUM dyeing wth:out heirs as above, the said land descends to THOS: BONUM, party to these presents; together with all houses orchards rights members & appurtenances thereunto belonging; To have and to hold the One hundred and ninety two acres of land unto WILLOUGHBY NEWTON his heirs &c., and THOMAS BONUM & SARAH his Wife for themselves their heirs the land and premises unto WILLOUGHBY NEWTON his heirs against all persons claiming under them shall warrant and forever defend by these presents; In Witness whereof the partys to these presents have interchangeably set their hands and seals the day & year first above written Signed Sealed and Delivered in presents of us THOMAS BONUM

KNOW AL MEN by these presents that I THOMAS BONUM of Parish of Stevens in County of NORTHUMBERLAND am held and firmly bound unto WILLOUGHBY NEWTON, of Parish of Cople in County of Westmorland in the full and just sum of One thousand pounds Sterling money of Great Brittain, to which payment well and truly to be made I bind myself my heirs firmly by these presents; Sealed with my seale and dated this fifth day of January in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and fifty THE CONDITION of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bounden THOMAS BONUM hath bargained & sold unto WILLOUGHBY NEWTON Four tracts of land scituate in YEOCOMOCO NECK in Westmorland County, vizt. three hundred and seven acres of land formerly granted THOMAS PHILPOT as by Paten dated the 11th day of August 1668 whereon Mr. THOMAS BONUM the Elder lived, now THOMAS BONUM's Quarter, sixty six acres of land joyning on sd. NEWTON's MILL which was granted JAMES ORCHARD by Deed from the Proprietors Office dated the 8th day of March 1694/5, Ninty six acres of land on JERNEWS CREEK part of a Paten granted to JOAN POWELL the 19th Decembr. 1650, also one hundred & ninty two acres of land on POTOMACK RIVER being the remainder pt. of the said JOAN POWELL's Paten which became the right of DANIEL BONUM & by him devised to his Son, SAMUEL BONUM, & the heirs of his body lawfully begotten & for want of such heirs to his Nephew, THOMAS BONUM, & his heirs, all wch: tracts of land now sold by the above bounden THOMAS BONUM according to the several courses distances & boundryes of the several Patens unto WILLOUGHBY NEWTON & his heirs. NOW if THOMAS BONUM and SARAH BONUM his Wife or their heirs &c., do sign seale & deliver & duly execute good & soficient Deeds wth: a Generall Warranty for the conveying an absolute fee simple in all the tracts of land unto WILLOUGHBY NEWTON his heirs & also that THOMAS BONUM & SARAH his Wife or their heirs &c. shall wth:in six months from the date hereof personally appear before the County Court of Westmorland & the General Court as the case requires & there in open Court acknowledge such Deeds for conveying an absolute fee simple in the lands; That then the above obligation to be void & of none effect, otherwise to remain in full force power & virtue
