This Indenture made the 7th day of August 1758 between Rush Hudson of the county of Orange, planter of the one part and Burditt Ashton of the parish of Washington and county of Westmoreland, gent in consideration of the sum of 5 pounds current money current money of Virginia has sold a tract of land lying in the parish of Washington and county of Westmoreland containing 25 acres and bounded northerly and westerly by the land and plantation of Burditt Ashton, easterly by land purchased by the said Ashton of Richard Haikes and northerly by lands in possession of Elizabeth Settle and one other parcel of land purchased of Valentine Hudson by the said Burditt Ashton which said tract to be sold was given and devised by Joshua Hudson to his sons Valentine Hudson and Rush Hudson describing it to be the remaining part of his land lying between John Hudson and Joshua Hudson to be equally divided between them, his son Valentine Hudson to have his first choice as said will remaining on record may full appear. This indenture made the 9th day of May 1774 between David Wickliffe and Jenny Wickliffe his wife of the County of Westmoreland of the one part and Joseph Rallings and Valentine Hudson of the same parish and County of the other part. Witnesseth that David Wickliffe and Jenny Wickliffe his wife in consideration of 99 pounds five shillings has sold to Joseph Ralllings and Valentine Hudson equally divided or to be divided between them in tenancy in common and not joint tenancy, two tracts of land adjoining each other, situate on the south side of Machodoc Creek in the parish and county aforesaid, lying between the lands of Joseph Rallings, Burditt Ashton and Daniel Edrington containing 130 acres which the said David Wickliffe purchased of Margaret Settle as by an indenture of bargain and sale.
