In the name of God, Amen, I CHRISTOPHER HOOMES of the County of Culpepper & Colony of Virginia being of perfect sense of memory & duly weighing the uncertainty of Human affairs, do make & Ordain this my last Will & Testament in manner following Imprimis I give my Immortal part to the Divine Author & my Body to the earth to be intered in such decent soil as my Executors hereafter named shall think fit
First, I give & bequeath to my reputed son & whom I have raised from his Infancy WILLIAM SHERRIL Son of MARGARET SHERRIL Alais MARGERY PURKINS all that tract or parcel of Land which I purchased of John Latham lying in the aforesaid County it being the same on which I now live to him & his Heirs or assigns forever. Also I give to my said son one Seventh part of all my Negroes & cattle & Hogs which I give & bequeath to him my said Son WILLIAM SHEREL to him his Heirs & assigns forever
