Louisa Frances (Bishop) Vaught of Crab Orchard Road, Pulaski County, Kentucky, died after an illness of several weeks. She was 95 years old. She was a member of the Union Church of Christ. She was survived by her daughter, Mrs. Zora Alexander of Bobtown; and her sons, Jim Vaught of Ida Grove, Iowa, Everett Vaught of Paxton, Illinois, Fred Vaught of Science Hill, Kentucky, and Oscar Vaught and Charley Vaught, both of the Dabney community in Pulaski County, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Bishop and Sarah (Vaught) Bishop; her husband, Wash Vaught; two daughters; one son; two sisters; and one brother. Funeral services were held at the Union Church of Christ with Reverend Lloyd Keeney of Science Hill officiating.

On 09 Jul 1885, Rufus received an Appointment as US Postmaster in New Winchester, Hendricks, Indiana, the place where he and his wife are buried. I do not know how long they stayed there, because he died in May 1900 in Indianapolis and there are five Directory listings for him there.
