However, in Spurlin [1994:V:9] Helen Spurlin wrote: "[Gaspar Sr.] may have had as his oldest child the Gaspar Vaught who appears in Blount Co., TN in 1787. If Gaspar (Jr?) was 17 in 1787 and b in 1770, thenn Gaspar (Sr?)'s wifre Elizabeth had children from 1770 to 1800. Possible but not likely!"1,2

I, Andrew Vaught, being in a weak State of health but in my right mind I wish the following distribution of my property. After my death I want my taughter Tildy Courtnell to get my bed and bed stead and be clothes that is at Richard Cotrells for her trouble of waiting on her Mother during her sickness and whatever is right for her trouble with me, the allowance to be made to Richard Cottrell and family fo rkeeping me to be made by Sam Thompson and sam Tullock to be paid out of the proceeds of the sale of my property.
I want all the rest of my property to be sold to the highest bidder on a credit of twelve months, and the proceeds thereof, first to pay all my debts and the balance to be equally divided among my children David & John Gildy Cottrell and Besty Bill and Margaret Bests children to get a child's part & Andrew and Wahington I have one wagon and 1 oxen 1 paid stretchers 1 blind mare and 1 cow & calf 12 head of stock hogs, the meat of seven hogs & four fat hogs to kill, something like two hundred bushels of corn 2 cannon plows, one shovel 1 bed & bedstead and clothes 1 chest 1 large pot 1 skillet 1 small skillet, one oven without a lid, 1 small oven and lit, one clock 1 looking glass, 1 cream jar two melenian plates, one sugar bowl, 1 set of knives and forks 1 fire shovel, 1 paid herought & irons 1 frow 1 big jointer, two fone plains 1 jack plain, 1 cooper adz and howell, 1 large hand saw, and small handsaw one large wood file 1 rasp, 1 inch augher 1 inch and half auger, one three quarter auger 1 large falling ax 1 small as one history Josephus 1 Methodist discipline the life of Mation and Washington, one house Bille, 1 pot mamller 2 broad hose 1 set swingle trees and double trees one horse stretchers 2 fodder stacks plow chains one hems one not on Samuel Gharmly for thriteen (P106) dollars and seventy cents, credit to be given on the note 1 three dollar noate on Garner Tucker 1 umberella 1 new riding bridle two swingle trees and three clevise and some other little articles too tedious to mention 2 pair compasses 1 butcher knife 2 coffee pots 1 tea kettle.
