Son William-the plantation I now live on to him and the male heirs of his body to be begotten, and for want of such heirs to my son Francis and the male heirs of his body to be begotten, and for want of such heirs then to my son Richard and the male heirs of his
body to be begotten,
Son Rodham-when he attains the age of twenty one, my plantation in Westmoreland County, If he should die before he attains said age9 I give said plantation to my son Francis.
Son Matthew-five shillings.
Daughter Hannah, wife of Richard Kenner-five shillings
Six children William, Francis, Richard, Rodham, Elizabeth, and Nanny, all my negroes and personal estate, to be equally divided amongst them. Sons William, Francis, and Richard, shall not have their share until they attain the age of twenty six or day of marriage, daughter Elizabeth shall, not have her share until she attains the age of twenty or day of marriage, and s.on Rodham shall not have his share until he attains the age or twenty one. Profits from my estate to be applied towards the education and maintainence of my children Elizabeth, Rodham, and Nanny.
The reason my sons William, Francis, and Richard, are not to receive their estate 'till they attain the age of twenty six or day of marriage, is so that my executors may be enabled with the produce of my whole estate undivided to educate and maintain my three younger children Elizabeth, Rodham, and Nanny, until my
on Rodham is of full age to receive his share, and until my said daughters are of the age of twenty years.
if any of my children should die unmarried or childless, their share to go to the survivors as if no such death had happened. My son Rodham to be kept at school and taught, the art of navigation, in order to prepare him for a seafareing life.
If my son William whom I have given an estate-tail in the plantation adjoining where I now live, should disturb my executors from working my negroes on said land before he attains the age of twenty six, he is not to have a share of my negroes or personal estate that I have bequeathed to him, but to have one shilling and no more.
Friends Matthew Zuill, and Richard Hull, executors, and they to be guardians to my children that are underage at my decease, Witness: Thomas Myers, William Gill and William Kerman, Administration granted William Kenner.1
