NB: I originally had one dau. Anne for Hancock LEE by his wife Mary KENDALL. I had her marrying twice: firstly to .William ARMISTEAD, and secondly to William EUSTACE. However, Early Colonial Settlers shows thhat he had two daughters named Anne, Anne1 (m. William ARMISTEAD) by his 1st wife, Mary KENDALL, and Anne2 (m. William EUSTACE) by his second wife, Sarah ALLERTON.5,6 She was the executor of William Eustace's estate between 10 March 1739 and 1740 at Wicomico Parish, Northumberland Co., Virginia, USA.4

     Wife Ann Eustace-to enjoy my dwelling plantation and plantation at Cabin Creek neck adjoining thereto, with the use of all my working slaves, horses, cattle, sheep and hogs, all my.plate household furniture for her natural life, and my children to remain with my wife 'till they come of age or marry, and she to provide them with board out of stock given to her and those belonging to my son John
     Son John Eustace-my plantation old lands at the Indian town, and plantation where Richard Lock now lives, together with horses, cattle, sheep and hogs on the two plantations, and remainder of slaves not before given, and he to have the plantation, slaves, stock and household goods, herein bequeathed to his mother after her decease.
     Son William Eustace-land purchased from George Rust, John Mercer, and John Coppedge, with the stock of horses, cattle and hogs belonging; my son John by purchase or otherwise to settle ten working slaves on the land within five years and son William to have the same at the age of twenty one years, The three slaves now on the said land, if alive when son William settles the land, to count as part of the aforesaid ten slaves, and son John to purchased for William a lot or half acre in the town of Falmouth or Fredericksburg. Whereas a suit is now pending against me in General Court for a small part of the said lands given to my son William in Prince William County, in case a recovery be had, son John to purchase the part recovered for my son William.
     Son Isaac Eustace-my land in Stafford County on the "Pignut Ridge bought of Capt. John Lee; son John to settle on the said land ten working slaves, five head of cattle, and five head of hogs sometime within the next ten years, when my son Isaac attains the age of twenty one years.
     Daughters Elizabeth, Sarah, and Anne-four hundred pounds current money of Virginia, one half when they become twenty one or day of marriage which shall happen first, and the other half on the birth of their first child. in case that either of my said daughters do not arrive to the age of twenty one or marry or have a child, her part or portion shall be divided amongst my surviving children. Son Hancock Eustace-when he arrives at the age of sixteen to be bound apprentice to some qualified Commander of a London Ship, to serve till the age of twenty one years, and he to be kindly used and instructed in the Art of Navigation, and my executor to advance him a sum not to exceed fifty pounds current money for necessary apparel during his apprenticeships and when he arrives to the age of twenty one to have the sum of four hundred pounds current money of Virginia including the sum given him as a bound apprentice. If he should not arrive to the age of twenty one the money to be divided amonst the rest of my children.
     In case my wife Ann Eustace be unwilling to accept the legacy bequeathed in lieu of her dower in my estate, my daughters and son Hancock to deduct fifty pounds out of their legacy to make good the present disadvantage that may attend my son John.
     Son John Eustace-my store goods and all my book debts,my money and tobacco in England, my goods now sent for all my effects in trade, and he to carry on my trade now begun under the assistance and advice of my friend Matt. Zuill,gent, till he arrives to the age of twenty one My son John not to bargain or sell during his minority without the advice of my aforesaid friend, and said. Matthew Zuni to have five pounds pr annum during term of his assistance. The tobacco purchased in said trade to be shipped to England,and that Thomas Gaskins be retained as an assistant to my son John in the store and gathering in the debts,at the rate of five pounds current money pr year during two years next.
Executors to use all possible care to collect my outstanding debts the ensueing year, and my estate not to be appraised.
Daughters, and sons William, Isaac,and Hancock to be maintained and educated during their minority as my executors shall think proper out of my son John's estate, and the profit from the lands and slaves given to my sons William and Isaac, till they come of age to receive them.

Richard Henry Lee, which make the sum of £331.19.3 which I have in my account books against my said daughter Ann Lee; and my daughter Ann Lee shall have as much of my estate as will make her fortune equal with my other daughters.

As there now is a law suit on the part I purchased of Bell, and in case that should be lost, then I give the money that should be recovered in lieu thereof; and in case my son should live to arrive to the age of twenty one years or marriage, the land to be his, and six negroes Sam, Harry, big Sinor, Silvery, Playtor, and Young Jude.
Wife-the residue of the negroes that came by her, to wit:-Isaac, Minee, Chloe, Old Jude, and Bett, to her and her heirs.
Son Thomas-three negroes now in his possession, to wit:-Old Jack, Old Sinor, and her child Chloe; and the other negro he has of mine named Judey, to be returned and valued in my estate. Also he to have all my land at my home quarter, containing 550 acres.
Daughter Eliza-negroes Jesse, Frank, young Dick, Fanny, Orring, and Rosse, valued at £320.
My two daughters Sarah and Eliza shall have as much of my estate as will make up to the sum of £331.19.3, which is equal to my daughter Lee.
Nephew John Gaskins-the land I bought of Thomas Mahain and Onesip. Harvey, containing about 90 acres. John or his guardian to satisfy my account on my book, and if he does not agree then the land to be sold for the benefit of my estate. John Iron's heirs-to be satisfyed.
If my wife Sarah should prove to be with child or have another before my death, the said child to be allowed fifteen pounds per annum for the support and education of said child 'till it comes to age or marriage, and then each of my said heirs and wife to pay said child fifty pounds each, which will make the sum of 300 pounds, and it to have a full share of the residue of my estate. Rest of my estate to be equally divided amongst my children, vizt: Thomas, Henry Lee, Anne, Sarah, and Elizabeth, and any child hereafter born as mine; and wife to have an equal part of the negroes with my children during her natural life.
The mill I have in pardnership with George Phillip and the land I purchased of Joseph More and his wife Ann to be sold.
Son Thomas should give up his forest land excepting the swamp woods to my wife, in lieu of her dower, and wife to have liberty to get fire wood and timber out of the swamp woods for support of the plantation.

Son John Hull-the plantation I purchased of James Blackwell lying on Cupids Creek, and forty acres of land lying on the head of little Wiccomoco River which I purchased of Capt. Ellis Gill, during the life of my wife Elizabeth, and at her death the two tracts to go to my son Edwin Hull.
Son John Hull-one hundred acres in Hacks Neck which I purchased of Cuthbert Elliston.
Son Edwin Hull-land on Herring Creek in Hacks Neck containing three hundred acres which I purchased of Ellis Gill, Charles Bailey and his wife, and Elizabeth Sims.
Wife Elizabeth-use of nine negroes during her natural life, to wit: Suckey, Chloe, Sharper, Jesse, Adam, Old Dick, Darkey, Carpenter James, and Daniel a blacksmith, and at her death I give carpenter James and Daniel the smith to my son John Hull.
Rest of the above negroes to be equally divided between my four children John, Edwin, Ann, and Molly Hull.

My executors to rent yearly as long as my daughter Elizabeth Bell shall live, unto my son in law Charles Bell-my negro woman Fanny and her child and her future increase, for the rent of five shillings a year payable on or before the twenty fifth day of December, and if my daughter should survive the said Charles Bell then I give the said Fanny and her increase to her and her assigns, and if my daughter should die in the lifetime of the said Charles Bell, then I give the said negro and her increase to my two daughters Sarah Lee, and Hannah Gaskins, to be equally divided between them
I give to my son in law Charles Bell, the money he owes me.
Three daughters Elizabeth Bell, Sarah Lee, and Hannah Gaskins-five pounds currency each.
My executors to purchase a riding chair of the price of twenty pounds, and deliver the same to my daughter Hannah Gaskins.
Each of my daughters Ann, and Molly-one good feather bed and furniture, and ten head of sheep.
Son John Hull-all the stock of horses, cattle, hogs, and sheep, he now has in his possession, also one fourth part of the cattle and hogs that are on my dwelling plantation.

Wife-one half of my household furniture during her natural life, and she to give and dispose of at her death to such of my children as she shall think proper.

Fauquier County Court 24th of May 1759
- An Indenture made between WILLIAM EUSTACE Gent., of the one part, and GEORGE CRUMP, of the other part, was acknowledged by them and ordered to be recorded.1
In William Eustace's will dated 3 September 1739 at Wicomico Parish, Northumberland Co., Virginia, USA, William Eustace was named as an heir;

     Wife Ann Eustace-to enjoy my dwelling plantation and plantation at Cabin Creek neck adjoining thereto, with the use of all my working slaves, horses, cattle, sheep and hogs, all my.plate household furniture for her natural life, and my children to remain with my wife 'till they come of age or marry, and she to provide them with board out of stock given to her and those belonging to my son John
     Son John Eustace-my plantation old lands at the Indian town, and plantation where Richard Lock now lives, together with horses, cattle, sheep and hogs on the two plantations, and remainder of slaves not before given, and he to have the plantation, slaves, stock and household goods, herein bequeathed to his mother after her decease.
     Son William Eustace-land purchased from George Rust, John Mercer, and John Coppedge, with the stock of horses, cattle and hogs belonging; my son John by purchase or otherwise to settle ten working slaves on the land within five years and son William to have the same at the age of twenty one years, The three slaves now on the said land, if alive when son William settles the land, to count as part of the aforesaid ten slaves, and son John to purchased for William a lot or half acre in the town of Falmouth or Fredericksburg. Whereas a suit is now pending against me in General Court for a small part of the said lands given to my son William in Prince William County, in case a recovery be had, son John to purchase the part recovered for my son William.
     Son Isaac Eustace-my land in Stafford County on the "Pignut Ridge bought of Capt. John Lee; son John to settle on the said land ten working slaves, five head of cattle, and five head of hogs sometime within the next ten years, when my son Isaac attains the age of twenty one years.
     Daughters Elizabeth, Sarah, and Anne-four hundred pounds current money of Virginia, one half when they become twenty one or day of marriage which shall happen first, and the other half on the birth of their first child. in case that either of my said daughters do not arrive to the age of twenty one or marry or have a child, her part or portion shall be divided amongst my surviving children. Son Hancock Eustace-when he arrives at the age of sixteen to be bound apprentice to some qualified Commander of a London Ship, to serve till the age of twenty one years, and he to be kindly used and instructed in the Art of Navigation, and my executor to advance him a sum not to exceed fifty pounds current money for necessary apparel during his apprenticeships and when he arrives to the age of twenty one to have the sum of four hundred pounds current money of Virginia including the sum given him as a bound apprentice. If he should not arrive to the age of twenty one the money to be divided amonst the rest of my children.
     In case my wife Ann Eustace be unwilling to accept the legacy bequeathed in lieu of her dower in my estate, my daughters and son Hancock to deduct fifty pounds out of their legacy to make good the present disadvantage that may attend my son John.
     Son John Eustace-my store goods and all my book debts,my money and tobacco in England, my goods now sent for all my effects in trade, and he to carry on my trade now begun under the assistance and advice of my friend Matt. Zuill,gent, till he arrives to the age of twenty one My son John not to bargain or sell during his minority without the advice of my aforesaid friend, and said. Matthew Zuni to have five pounds pr annum during term of his assistance. The tobacco purchased in said trade to be shipped to England,and that Thomas Gaskins be retained as an assistant to my son John in the store and gathering in the debts,at the rate of five pounds current money pr year during two years next.
Executors to use all possible care to collect my outstanding debts the ensueing year, and my estate not to be appraised.
Daughters, and sons William, Isaac,and Hancock to be maintained and educated during their minority as my executors shall think proper out of my son John's estate, and the profit from the lands and slaves given to my sons William and Isaac, till they come of age to receive them.

THIS INDENTURE made the twenty second and twenty third day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty between WILLIAM EUSTACE and ANNE his Wife of the County of Prince William and Parrish of Hamilton gent of one part and JOHN CRUMP of the said County and Parish Planter of other part Witnesseth that the said WILLIAM EUSTACE and ANNE his Wife for the sum of Eighteen pounds Twelve shillings Currt. money of Virginia doth sell unto said JOHN CRUMP in his actual possession now being by virtue of Indenture for one whole year and of the statute for transferring uses into possession and to the heirs and assigns of the said JOHN CRUMP all that Dividend of land containing Ninety three acres being in the County and Parish aforesaid and bounded beginning at a Spanish Oak on the ROAD side Corner tree to said WILLIAM EUSTACE and JOHN CRUMP thence along the line of the said JOHN CRUMP South West to three angular marked saplins two white Oaks and a red Oak thence South West to a Poplar and small white Oak on ELY. RUN thence down the several Meanders of the Run North East to a white Oak on the Run side Corner to JOHN JAMES thence then leaving the Run and extending thence North to the beginning containing Ninety three acres and being part of a tract of land taken up by JOHN COPPADGE deced of NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY whereof he obtained a Deed for the same from the PROPRIETORS OFFICE in the NORTHERN NECK of Virginia bearing date the Fifteenth day of September one thousand seven hundred and twenty Four and since sold by JOHN COPPADGE Son and Heir to the said JOHN COPPADGE deced unto WILLIAM EUSTACE Second Son of WILLIAM EUSTACE deced and recorded in the General Court relation being had To Have and To Hold the said parcel of land and all the premises unto the said JOHN CRUMP his heirs and assigns for ever. Item – I do leave and lend to my beloved wife one negro girl name Judith during her widowhood and in case of her death or marriage then to be equally divided among my children.
Item – I give and bequeath to my son Eppa Lawson, my still and all necessaries to her belonging also my desire is that the said still shall not be lent or hired to any person or persons whatsoever but to remain for use of the plantation until the owner comes of age to receive her.
Item – My will and desire is that if my negro Stephen now lying in the goal (jail) of Lancaster County is not hanged that my Executor will make sale of him o the advantage which thy see most proper.
Item – I give to my son John Lawson 25 pounds current money the said money or 25 pounds to be raised by the sale of the negro Stephen, if the above slave is hanged what ever he is valued to more than pays the 25 pounds current money and if not hanged whatever he is sold for more than the said sum, I devise it may be disposed of as my Executor see occasion for the use of the plantation.
Item – My will is that after my son John Lawson has received his schooling he shall be bound to a trade at the age of 16 and serve until 20, it being 4 years.
Item – My will and desire is that all my Estate of what sort or kind so ever it be, omitting the above legacies shall be equally divided amongst my wife and children, vis. Eppa, Elizabeth, John and Anna Stepto and in Case of either of my children should deceased in their non age or without issue, it is my desire that the said child or children’s part or parts may be equally divided among my surviving child or children.
Item – I do nominate my loving friend James Haynes Sr., John Stepto, James Haynes Jr. and William Dymer to be my whole and sole Executors to this my last Will & Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 25 March 1745.
