THIS INDENTURE made this thirty first day of July in the yeare of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and four Betweene JOHN REYNOLDS of the Parish of ST. MARY in the County of Richmond of the one part and Mr. RICHARD TALIAFERRO of the County of ESSEX of the other part. Wittnesseth that the said JOHN REYNOLDS hath granted unto the said RICHARD TALIAFERRO and to his heires and assignes forever a certaine parcel of Land containeing by estimation Two hundred acres more or less being part of a Patent of Five hundred acres (granted to WILLIAM REYNOLDS deceased and the said JOHN REYNOLDS by Collo. WILLIAM FITZHUGH, Agent for the PROPIETORS of the NORTHERN NECK) beareing date the fifteenth day of October One thousand six hundred ninety and seven, the said Two hundred acres of Land as aforesaid to begin att a marked white Oake being the lover corner tree of ROBERT PAYNEs line by the side of Sunken Ground opposite to certaine Glade, running from the said white Oake North into the woods to a Swamp supposed to be seventy or eighty paces from the Dwelling House of WILLIAM REYNOLDS, and from thence a cross to the East line of the said Patent, and from thence along the said line downe to the River and athwart to the prime station, the River being the natural' bounds, together wth: all houses gardens orchards wth: all other premisses to the said land appertaineing and all the right and interest which the said JOHN REYNOLDS hath or ought to have to the sd Land and premisses as aforesaid for and in consideration of a Negro Man and four thousandpounds of Arronoko Tobbo: and casks to him payd. before the ensealing of these presents by the said RICHARD TALIAFERRO, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and himselfe therewith fully satisfyed; To have and to hold all and every part of the afore- said Land with all appurtenances and priviledges of the premisses above sold to the only use and proper behoofe of the said RICHARD TALIAFERRO his heirs' s and assignes for ever more; And that he the said JOHN REYNOLDS hath full power to grant and sell the said premisses and furthermore the said JOHN REYNOLDS doth for himselfe his heires covenant that he the said RICHD. Will of Anthony Haynie dated 22 December 1753; probated 21 February 1760
Anthony Haynie of Culpeper County now being in perfect health. Unto my son Spencer all that part of my land in Prince William County between the Spring branch and Carter's line. Unto my son Bridgar the remainder of my land in Prince William County from the said run to Young's line and if my son Bridgor should dy without an lawfull heir that then my will is that my land bequeathed shal desend to my son Richard. Unto my son Charles my Negro garl cold fillis but not to be delivered till my executors shal think fitt. Unto my daughter Ann Strother my Negro garl cold Hanah to be delivered when my executor shal think fitt. All the rest of my estate personall and raall after my debts are paid be att the disposal of my executor during hir life. My desier is that my estate may not be appraised. All my estate remaining after the decease of my executor be queally divided between my three daughters Elizabeth and Wennefred and Jane and my three youngest sons Richard and John and William and if anyone of the six fore mentioned children chance to mary in the life time of my executor she may dispose of any part of the estate shal think fitt for thare subsistances. It is my disir my three sons be put out to such trads as they are most desierous of when they are at the age of sixteen. Will of Anthony Haynie dated 22 December 1753; probated 21 February 1760
Anthony Haynie of Culpeper County now being in perfect health. Unto my son Spencer all that part of my land in Prince William County between the Spring branch and Carter's line. Unto my son Bridgar the remainder of my land in Prince William County from the said run to Young's line and if my son Bridgor should dy without an lawfull heir that then my will is that my land bequeathed shal desend to my son Richard. Unto my son Charles my Negro garl cold fillis but not to be delivered till my executors shal think fitt. Unto my daughter Ann Strother my Negro garl cold Hanah to be delivered when my executor shal think fitt. All the rest of my estate personall and raall after my debts are paid be att the disposal of my executor during hir life. My desier is that my estate may not be appraised. All my estate remaining after the decease of my executor be queally divided between my three daughters Elizabeth and Wennefred and Jane and my three youngest sons Richard and John and William and if anyone of the six fore mentioned children chance to mary in the life time of my executor she may dispose of any part of the estate shal think fitt for thare subsistances. It is my disir my three sons be put out to such trads as they are most desierous of when they are at the age of sixteen.
