NB: William Henry O'KEEFE's household in the 1900 census contains both of his brothers-in-law, John Mark ROSENBLATT and Hugh H. GOUCHENOUR. In the list of John ROSENBLATT's children in William O'KEEFE's household, on line 45, there is an "Edith M. ROSENBLATT" aged 3, born "Jul 1896".
There is a grave in the Greeneville Oak Grove Cemeter for an "Edith (GOUCHENOUR) CARTER" with the birthdate of 13 July 1896. I believe that the 1900 census entry was perhaps an error and the child was actually Edith M. GOUCHENOUR. However, the entry for Flora GOUCHENOUR says that she had "0" children born and "0" children living (on the census date 12 June 1900).
My hypothesis about what happened is as follows:
Thus, it would seem that sometime between the 1900 and 1910 censuses, Hugh probably adopted his niece, born Edith ROSENBLATT, and she became Edith GOUCHENOUR.2,1,5 Edith Marshall Gouchenour was also known as Edith M. Rosenblatt.1
