     Barbara Susong's maiden name was Sauesanger! Barbara Susong was an officer in the revolutionary War. Barbara received 1000 acres of land after the War. Barbara's husband received the land in his name because women could not own land except for 1/3 dower rights. George Washington did not want women in the war. Washington made an exception for Barbara. There is a family relationship with LaFayette which explains how she could be in the war.
