     The name Susan was fairly common among the descendants of Epenetus HART (bef 1736-1801/2).

     Until recently (9 Oct 2026) I had believed that the Susan Ann HART who died in Summit Co., OH in 1851. was the daughter of Armstrong and Susan (RIGGS) HART (i.e., #5=#6).
     I now believe that the Susan Ann HART who d. in Summit Co., NY was the Susan (MNU) who had married Armstrong's brother Jonathan (who d. in 1816). (i.e., #3=#6).
This leaves the question of was #1 Susan Ann (HART) KOONS?
     The will of Susan Ann HART #2 names as beneficiaries a large number of people from Ontario Co., NY who would be her 1st cousins and nieces if this relationship holds. In fact, the will of "Ohio Susan" also names ""Susan Koon wife of Henry Koon of Prattsburgh, said Susan Koon is now in Penyan The will of Susan Ann HART #2 names as beneficiaries a large number of people from Ontario Co., NY who would be her 1st cousins and nieces if this relationship holds.      However, if Susan (MNU) HART #3=#6, then the beneficiaries in the 1847 will of Susan Ann HART of Sumit Co., would also be her cousins and nieces.
     Susan Ann (HART) married Henry G. KOON of Prattsburgh, Steuben Co., NY in 1833. Mary/Mariah HART (1084-1897), another daughter of Armstrong and Susan (RIGGS) HART also married a man in Prattsburgh, William B. SHATTUCK (1784-1871), ten years earlier in 1823. So there is some link of the family of Epenetus to Prattsburgh.
     I now believe the #1 was the dau. of Armstrong and Susan (RIGSS) HART.
---Susan #4 d. on 29 Nov. 1851 as did Susan #2. I believe that someone (perhaps her adopted daughter Emma H. Pease) arranged to have #2's remains shipped back to NY for burial. This is consistent with the fact that her 1847 will was probated in both states.
---Susan and Henry KOON had a son named Henry Hart KOON. Henry Hart KOON (1838-1897) had a son he named William Hart KOON (c1873-1955). Susan and Henry KOON also had a daughter named Emma S. KOON (1849-unk). Giving HART as the middle name of their son implies the likelihood of a HART connection. Naming their daughter Emma may imply a connection to the Emma/Emmy HART (1799-aft 1829) who was also a daughter of Armstrong and Susan (RIGGS) HART. (In perhaps a total coincidence, Susan (MNU) HART (1783-1851) adopted a woman in Ohio named Emma H. Pease and also named her in her will.)

In the name of God Amen I Armstrong Hart of the County of Franklin in the State of Missouri, being in a low state of health and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die and believing it very probable that the disease under which I now labor will prove fatal, but feeling assured that my mind is unimpaired and that I now possess a disposing memory, I do make the following my last will and testament.

First: I wish that my body should receive at the hands of my friends and executors a decent burial.

Secondly: It is my wish that all my just debts be paid and for that purpose it is my will that my executors sell at private or public sale as they may find most expedient so much of my personal estate as will raise a sum sufficient to pay them. If, however, my executors should think it would be more to the advantage of my estate to pay my debts out of the rents that may be coming to me from the letting of my interest in the grist and saw mills which I now own, then it is my will that my debts be so paid and my personal property be disposed of as hereinafter mentioned. If my executors should settle my debts out of the rents of the mills, then it is my wish that my wife take and keep during her widowhood the whole of my personal estate to be by her used for the support and maintenance of the family, and if my executors should sell a part of my personal estate, then it is my will that the remaining part and the rents of my mills be given to my wife so long as she remains single to be used by her as aforesaid. It is my desire that my wife remain on the plantation where I now live and cultivate the farm, but if in her opinion and in the opinion of my executors it would be more to her interest that the farm and ferry should be leased, together with the negro man Paul, then it is my will that they be let out and the profits be given to my wife for the support of the family. My wife received out of the estate of Isaac Murphy at the appraised value the negro man named Paul that is now in the family. Whether by the laws of the country this negro is my property, I am not advised. If it should so turn out that he is not mine and those who have now or should hereafter have the management of said Isaac Murphy's estate should claim off of my estate the hire of said negro, then in that case I wish my executors to charge the estate of said Murphy with the raising and schooling of the heirs of said Murphy. If my wife should think proper to marry again, I wish for my executors then to dispose of all the personal property, after she has taken her share, and the amount raised by such sale and the hire of my negro girl Louisa and the rent of my mills to be then applied to the schooling and maintenance of my three sons, Albert, Epenetus and Joseph. After my three sons are raised and become of age, I will to them and my four daughters in New York, to wit, Maria, Eliza, Emmy and Susan Ann, my interest in the tract of land upon which my mills are built and my interest in those mills, my negro girl named Louisa and her increase, the negro man Paul (if he should be my property) and indeed all and every thing that may at that day be a part of my estate. It is my desire, however, that my girls should receive their shares of my estate at an earlier period than the time before mentioned, and if my executors after a lapse of some three or four years after my decease should be enabled to make an estimate of my estate and should find that it will [not] injure the estate to sell so much thereof as will pay them their shares, it is then my will it be so arranged.
I constitute and appoint Bennoni Sappington and William G. Owens executors to this my last will and testament. In testimony of all which I hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty-sixth of November in the year 1829.

Whereas Armstrong Hart, late of the County of Franklin, deceased, died leaving his last will and testament and Bennoni Sappington, the executor therein named, having given sufficient security, I do therefore give and grant unto you the said Bennoni Sappington full power and authority to administer (with the will annexed and according to the tenor thereof) all and singular the goods, chattels, rights and credits of the said deceased lying and being in the said county of Franklin and to demand, collect and in a legal manner require and receive any and all manner of debt and debts due and owing to the said deceased and well and faithfully to dispose of the same according to law. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint the said Bennoni Sappington administrator with the will annexed of all and singular the goods, chattels, rights and credits of the said deceased. Be it Remembered that at a Court of Probate for the County of Summit and State of Ohio holden by Charles G. Sadd Probate Judge for said County of Summit at the Court House in the town of Akron in the County and State aforesaid on the sixth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-two the last will and Testament of Susan Hart late of said County of Summit but late of the State of New York deceased was produced in Court for Probate and Allen E. Wolcott and William W. Lucas the subscribing witnesses to said will appear and in open Court depose and say that they saw the said Susan Hart the Testatrix subscribe said instrument and heard her publish an declare the same to be her las weill and Testament and that the said Testatrix was at the time of executing the same of full age of sound mind and memory and not under any restraint and that they subscribed said will as witnesses in presence of the said Testatrix and in the presence of each other whereupon the Court considering said willl as duly proved do approve the same and order said Will and Probate be recorded which said will & Probate folling in these words to wit:

     I Susan Hart of Cuyahoga Falls in the Conty of Summit and State of Ohio do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following:
     First I consign my soul into the hands of God who gave it hoping and confidently believing in the remission of my sins through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ my Redeemer - and my body I commit to its earthly repose until the judgement of the last day and my worldly estate I give and devise as follows.
     First: I give and bequeath unto my adopted daughter Emma H. Pease of said Cuyahoga Falls for and during the period of her natural life the annual income arising from all the Bank Stock which I own in the Ontario Bank in the Conty of Ontario inthe State of New York to have and to hold for the natural life of said Emma H. Pease and at her death it is my express will and intent that the said Bank Stock shall become absolutely the property of the said Emme H. Pease or the survivor or survivors of them, and I futher give and bequeath unto my said adopted daughter Emma H. Pease all my household furniture, beds & bedding, dishes and wearing apparel of every description whatsoever which shall remain at my decease.
     Item Second. I give and bequeath unto Mary H. Williams daughter of the late Richard M. Williams of the town of Potter in the State of New York One Hundred dollars.
     Item Third. I give and bequeath unto Richard H. Williams son of the late Richard M. Williams aforesaid One Hundred dollars.
     Item Fourth. I give and bequeath unto Eliza Harmons [sic Heermans] wife of Dr. Harmons of the town of Potter aforesaid One Hundred dollars.

     I Susan Hart of the town of Gorham, Ontario County New York do make and ordain this as supplementary to my last will and testament in manner and form following. My stock in the "Rocky Bar" mining company of California being one third of five shares, I give and bequeath as follows viz one half to Maria Shattuck of Randolph County of Cararaugus, State of new York, one fourth to Susan A. Koon of the Village of Penyan [sic] Yates County New York, and the remainder to Emma S. Hermans [sic] of Potter Yates County NY. my household furinture and wearing apparetly possessed by me at the time of decease I give and bequeath the following persons to be equally divided among them vis Eliza William, Susan P. Husted and Mary K. Williams all of the town of Potter Yates County New York and Maria Shattuck of Randolph Cataraugus Co New Y, Eliza Heremans [sic] of Potter Yates Co NY and Susan A. Koon of the village of Pen Yan Yates @ NYork excepting therfrom four silver desert spoons which I give to Susan [sic] H. Pease of Cuyahoga Falls, Summit County Ohio. I hereby aurhorize Damuel H. Andrews, the Executor named in my last will of which this is a codicil to execute the provisions herin contained.      Now therefore I do hereby make this condicil to be annexed to my said last wil & Testament in manner following that is to say
     Whereas I am the ownder of one third undivided of five sahres of Capital Stock in the Rocky Bar Mining Company California I do give and decise to Mrs. Maria Chadwick of on undivided half of my interest in the said stock, to Emma Hermans of Potter Yates County one quarter of my interest in the same stock, and to Mrs. Susan Koon of Penn Yan Yates co one like quarter of my interest therein subject to the following condition namely - If the share above devised to Mrs. Maria Chatwick shall yeild a dividend of one hundred dollars or more per annum, then she the said Maria shall pay to the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions the sum of twenty dollar per annum on the one hundred and if more then to increase in the like proportion. And the shares of Emma Hermans & Mrs. Koon shall yield repectively the sum of $50 each per annum then the said Emma Hermans & Mrs. Coon [sic] shall each respectively pay the American Home Missionary Society for the uses of that Society the sum of ten dollars each per annum, and if they shall yield more than $50 as before stated then they shall pay to the said society in the same proportion.

     The name Susan was fairly common among the descendants of Epenetus HART (bef 1736-1801/2).

     Until recently (9 Oct 2026) I had believed that the Susan Ann HART who died in Summit Co., OH in 1851. was the daughter of Armstrong and Susan (RIGGS) HART (i.e., #5=#6).
     I now believe that the Susan Ann HART who d. in Summit Co., NY was the Susan (MNU) who had married Armstrong's brother Jonathan (who d. in 1816). (i.e., #3=#6).
This leaves the question of was #1 Susan Ann (HART) KOONS?
     The will of Susan Ann HART #2 names as beneficiaries a large number of people from Ontario Co., NY who would be her 1st cousins and nieces if this relationship holds. In fact, the will of "Ohio Susan" also names ""Susan Koon wife of Henry Koon of Prattsburgh, said Susan Koon is now in Penyan The will of Susan Ann HART #2 names as beneficiaries a large number of people from Ontario Co., NY who would be her 1st cousins and nieces if this relationship holds. Mary/Mariah HART (1084-1897), another daughter of Armstrong and Susan (RIGGS) HART also married a man in Prattsburgh, William B. SHATTUCK (1784-1871), ten years earlier in 1823. So there is some link of the family of Epenetus to Prattsburgh.
     I now believe the #1 was the dau. of Armstrong and Susan (RIGSS) HART.
---Susan #4 d. on 29 Nov. 1851 as did Susan #2. I believe that someone (perhaps her adopted daughter Emma H. Pease) arranged to have #2's remains shipped back to NY for burial. This is consistent with the fact that her 1847 will was probated in both states.
---Susan and Henry KOON had a son named Henry Hart KOON. Henry Hart KOON (1838-1897) had a son he named William Hart KOON (c1873-1955). Susan and Henry KOON also had a daughter named Emma S. KOON (1849-unk). Giving HART as the middle name of their son implies the likelihood of a HART connection. Naming their daughter Emma may imply a connection to the Emma/Emmy HART (1799-aft 1829) who was also a daughter of Armstrong and Susan (RIGGS) HART. (In perhaps a total coincidence, Susan (MNU) HART (1783-1851) adopted a woman in Ohio named Emma H. Pease and also named her in her will.)

This could be Henry Hart (aged 17 at the time) if the 10-20 year old, was mislabeled "Fem." instead of "Male".
The man and woman aged 20-30 are unidentified.¹⁰
