Barrett Conner Catlin Sr. died on 20 August 1873 at Crumpton, Queen Anne's Co., Maryland, USA, at age 29; Obituary - Kent News, Aug 23, 1873
DIED - At his residence, in Crumpton, on the 20th inst., Barrett C. Catlin of congestive fever, aged 29 years.
Chesterville and Vicinity ... This community was startled and pained to learn of the death of Barrett C. Catin, Esq., dealer in grain, lumber &c., at Crumpton. He had been sick for a few weeks, but had so far recovered as to attend to business at home, and visited the cammp meeting near Chesterville several times during its progress. His death was unlooked for, and his friends had reason to believe he was improving. No man in the community was more deservedly and universally popular and no one could be more generally mourned.1,2
