; per van de Pas: [quote] Son of Henry Grey, Count of Tancarville, and of Antigone, illegitimate daughter of Humphrey, Duke of Gloucester, he was about thirteen when, on 13 January 1450, he lost his father. On 24 July 1455, after the first battle of St.Albans, he was one of the barons who, in Parliament, swore allegiance to the King. On 4 August 1458 he had livery of his father's lands, his homage being respited, the escheator in Salop and the march of Wales being ordered to take his fealty.

Before 12 January 1459 he married Margaret Touchet, widow of Sir Roger Vaughan and daughter of James Touchet, Lord Audley, by his second wife, Eleanor, illegitimate daughter of Edmund Holand, Earl of Kent. On 12 October 1459 he was with the Duke of York in the skirmish at Ludford, county Lincoln, but surrendered and threw himself on the King's mercy. Though granted his life, he was condemned to forfeit his lands.

On 20 December 1459 as Richard Grey, Lord of Powis, he received a pardon for all treasons, insurrections, rebellions, conspiracies and other offences. On 1 July 1461 he was granted the office of Steward of Cecy, Cedewain and Montgomery. On 17 December 1466 he died aged only thirty. [end quote]²
