Sheriff, with Reginald Basset, for Leics and Warwicks 1193, in which office he continued for two years (CAL. OF STATE PAPERS, Close Rolls: Matthew of Paris), presented a Rector to the Church of Segrave (Matthew of Westminster), forced to give 400 Marks to King RICHARD I towards the support of the Crusade 1199, the first Segrave to possess the Manor of Cold Overton, which seven generations later passed to the Dukes of Norfolk through Lady Margaret de Segrave, cr. Duchess of Norfolk in her own right by RICHARD II; m, and had issue.²
