Elizabeth Vaught is mentioned in the will of George Vaught on 13 March 1825 at Wythe Co., Virginia, USA; per Spurlin [1994:V:8] "The will names sons David, John, Andrew, George, Peter, Charles, Joseph, Jefferson, and Abriana. It also Names daughters Mary, Elizabeth, and Christiana."2,5
Elizabeth Vaught was listed as a resident in George Vaught and Christiana Barbara Phillippi's household in the census report in 1830 at Wythe Co., Virginia, USA;
George is on the same page as at least six of his children: David, Peter, George, Charles, Abram and Elizabeth. There are two Georges on this page, one older than the other so likely father and son. The people listed in this household seem to match George and his wife, plus four children, plus an unidentified femail child ("under 5").
Spurlin [1994:V:8] speculated that the two elderly people in the household of the elizabeth VAUGHT on the same page were George's dau. Elizabeth with George and Christiana in her household. I cannot reconcile the two separate listings, George the elder and Elizabeth. GA Vaut

Elizabeth Vaught appeared in the census of 1830 at Wythe Co., Virginia, USA;
This Elizabeth appears on the same census page as six other VAUGHTs. Spurlin [1994:V:8] speculated that this was Elizabeth, the dau. of George and Christiana (Phillippi) Vaught, and that the Geo. and Christiana were elderly man and woman living with her. However, there are two George VAUGHTs listed separately on the same page: one of them aged 70-79 with an elderly woman aged 60-69, who would also match George and Christiana (Phillippi) Vaught. That George has a woman aged 20-29 in his household who could have matched Elizabeth (b1808), as well as three others who match three of Elizabeth's siblings. nI cannot reconcile the two listings George the elder and this Elisabeth. Christiana Vaught is mentioned in the will of George Vaught on 13 March 1825 at Wythe Co., Virginia, USA; per Spurlin [1994:V:8] "The will names sons David, John, Andrew, George, Peter, Charles, Joseph, Jefferson, and Abriana. It also Names daughters Mary, Elizabeth, and Christiana."2,4
Christiana Vaught was listed as a resident in George Vaught and Christiana Barbara Phillippi's household in the census report in 1830 at Wythe Co., Virginia, USA;
GA Vaut

Smith Shaw, Native of Chickasaw Dies in Texas
News has been received here of the death in Idalou, Texas, July 18th, of Smith Shaw, 76, following an illness of several weeks, due to paralysis.
A native of Chickasaw, he lived in the vicinity of Van Vleet until 1910 when he moved to Texas. Even though he was far away from home, he never lost interest in his Chickasaw friends, keeping up with them through his county paper and frequent visits. Besides his wife, He leaves several children and grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. A C Carter, of Van Vleet and Mrs. R L Bishop, of Houston.
