     Reuben Heron Meek was born on 20 May 1844 at Ferguson Township, Centre Co., Pennsylvania, USA; aged 6 in 1850 census; aged 16 in 1860 census; date from tombstone.^2,5,3 He married Mary Elizabeth Beaver, daughter of Jacob Beaver, on 21 February 1873.⁴

Reuben Heron Meek died on 26 April 1925 at Clarence, Centre Co., Pennsylvania, USA, at age 80; Obituary from the Clearfield, PA Clearfield Progress, Saturday Evening, May 2, 1925, front page:
     "Reuben Herron Meek, last surviving member of this old-time, well known Centre county family, died at his home at Clarence on Sunday, April 26, 1925, after an extended illness.
     "Deceased was a son of William J. and Jane McElhattan Meek and was born in Ferguson township May 4th 1844, on the tract of land taken up- by Capt. George Meek in 1790, and part of which still remains in the family name. In early life he took of the work of mill-wrighting and necessarily traveled over much of Central Pennsylvania, most of his time having been employed in the Reynoldsville, Galeton, Falls Creek region, and a year in Florida. Having married Elizabeth Beaver in 1872, the determined to make their home in what was later called South Snow Shoe, now Clarence. They built there in 1879, the first house in the village. That was before the N. Y. C. railroad entered the place and is the home of the family now.
     "Surviving him are his widow and the following children: Mrs. Robert Lucas, of Clearfield; Miss Zoe, a teacher in the public schools of Snow Shoe, and Democratic nominee for the legislature three years ago; Mrs. Charles Watson, of Clarence; Mrs. John Russell, of Avis; Mrs. Emil Krone and Clifton B., of Clarence.
     "Interment was made in the family plot in Meek's cemetery, Ferguson township, on Wednesday, April 29th, at 10 o'clock. Rev. Burkheimer, of the Snow Shoe Methodist church, had charge of the services."^3,6

The date of death (Dec. 12, 1864) and the transcribed inscription "[died aged] 82 years, 10 months, 7 days" recorded on her find A Grave memorial yields an estimated date of birth of 5 Feb 1782. This is identical to the date of birth of Rebeccau Huston, recorded as having married a Mr. Patton (see Linn [1883:284]). I believe that the Butler Co. burial labeled "C. H." is in fact Rebecca (Huston) Patton. GA Vaut.^3,4,1,5
