Obituary - The Christian Advocate - 1886
WADDLE.--Mary Ann Waddle was born July 1, 1832, and died at the home of her husband, Benner Waddle, at Buffalo Run, Centre County, Pa., October 16, 1886. She had been for years a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and was a true and devoted follower of the Master. In her death the church loses one of its most ardent supporters, and the community one of its most exemplary women. Sister Waddle was a constant reader of The Christian Advocate, and delighted to communicate the information obtained from it to young people, in whose interest she manifested a lively concern, and in whose society she particularly delighted. Bearing the marks of rugged health, she was, nevertheless, a great sufferer, but her affliction was borne with meekness. She lived for Christ, and died in Christ, and rests from her labors, and her works do follow her. Written by Rev. W. F. D. Noble
