Elizabeth Taylor was born on 23 March 1824.1 She married William Covington Ghormley, son of Rev. Michael Ghormley and Melinda Vaught, on 6 May 1845 at Indian Territory, North Carolina, USA,

Elizabeth Taylor died on 25 October 1863 at age 39; per WPA Project, p. 319: "[Elizabeth] died during their flight into Texas during the Civil War. He served in the Texas State Militia rather than the war because of his age."
per WPA Project, p. 321: They fled OK to Paris, TX when the Civil War came because of "gangsters and bush whackers." "Here William was able to echange 2 slave girls for a farm where he left his motherless children with their aged grandfather (for their mother died on the hard journey). The grandfather was Rev. Mike Chormley."1,2
She was a mentioned with William Covington Ghormley and Sarah Catherine Ray; There is an interesting autobiography written/dictated by a descendant of William Covington Ghormley, Mrs. Charlotte Elizabeth Ghormley Petty ca 1937, as part of a Works Progress Administration project to record the history of early pioneers in the Indian Territory of Oklahoma.
