In the name of God Amen. I ANTHONY SCOTT of the County of Culpeper being weak of body but of sound & perfect mind and memory .. do this Seventh day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty five make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner following Vitt.
First I will that my wife JANE SCOTT shall have and enjoy for and during her natural life my land and plantation whereon I now live, one negro boy, and all the rest & residue of my Estate whatsoever upon condition & not otherwise that she shall not marry nor leave the plantation whereon I now live to live with any strange or other person whatsoever and from & immediately after her decease or marriage or removal contrary to this my Will
i give to my son SAMUEL SCOTT all my land and all my Books and Plantation aforementioned to hold to him and his heirs forever also from & after the decease of my said wife her marriage or removal contrary to this my will
I give to my daughter FRANCES the wife of ABRAHAM COOPER the negro boy Tom aforementioned to hold to her and her heirs forever , and also my will is that if the said negro shall not live till my said daughter shall possess of him by virtue of this my will that then and in that case I give my said daughter Frances all the rest & residue of my personal estate whatsoever from & after the Decease of my wife or her marriage or removal contrary to this my will but in case the said negro boy aforementioned shall live till my said Daughter shall possess of him then and in such case I will that all the rest & residue of my personal Estate whatsoever shall be equally divided among all my children then living, I also give
to my Daughter ELIZABETH CORBIN ( faded) one shilling, also

My son Benjamin Roberts shall not be possessed with any part of the above mentioned tract which lies on the north side of Great Battle Run included within any fence during my natural life, anything in the above deed to the contrary mentioned not withstanding.

He was very fond of dancing when he was a young man, and was present at PETER YATER's house warming, in Warren Co., when the floor fell through. Mr. Bowen had the misfortune to get caught under Mrs. Yater in the fall, and she left an impression on him that he never forgot, for she weighed 250 pounds."2

Did your Humphrey die in 1756 or there abouts. If so he was probabley the son of Thomas Madison and wife Johannah of Caroline County, VA.
