; Revolutionary War Pension Application; Rawleigh Humphrey Verifying Solomon Walker's War Service. Transcription by GA Vaut, 26 Jan 2022:
"This deposition of Rawleigh Humphrey aged seventy years, who testifies that he was well acquainted with Solomon Walker an Frances Taylor, and lived in the same neighborhood that they did in the time of the Revolutionary War, in Stafford County, Virginia, and that he is fully convinced the said Solomon Walker served as a private soldier in said War (though he did not serve in said War himself being too young) having heard it talked of by the neighbors generally that said Solomon walker was in the said War) Several years as an invalid soldier previous to his intermarriage with the said Frances Taylor and that the said Solomon Walker was drafted and served several tours in the militia service after his intermarriage with the said Frances Taylor, and thinks a part of it was being served under Capt. Markerman (?) he was not personally present at said marriage, but remembers that it was talked of by the neighbours generally and knowing that it was in the time of the revolutionary War, and that they lived together and were reflected (?) man and wife to the time of the said Solomon Walker's death (which was about 16 years past, and since he removed from the neighbourhood in which he lived and was married in so he has been informed) and that he has not heard of the said Solomon Walker's widow, Frances Walker, formerly Frances Taylor aforesaid, marrying since, but he verily believes that she has remained his widow ever since that period.
     "Rawleigh Humphrey (his mark)
"This day Rawleigh Humphrey personally appeared before me Thomas Hill, as justice of the peace in and for the county of Stafford in the State of Virginia and made oath that the facts set forth in the foregoing deposition, and by him subscribed as t rued to the best of his recollection. I certify that the said Rawleigh Humphrey is a man of truth and entitled to full confidence. Sworn under my hand and seal this 9th day of November 1838. T. H. (illegible.)8'

Rawleigh Humphrey was listed as a resident in Thomas Young and Martha Patsy Joyce's household in the census report in 1840 at 9th Civil District, Maury Co., Tennessee, USA; He is on the same census page as his father, Nathaniel (II), but not sure this is the correct Thomas, since the oldest woman listed is too young to be his wife, Martha (b. 1803). The older girl (aged 10-14) is unidentified.
