Elizabeth Todd was born in 1640 at Lower Norfolk Co., Virginia, USA.1 She married Cornelius (I) Howard, son of Matthew Howard and Ann Hall, circa 1663 at St. Anne's Parish, Anne Arundel Co., Maryland, USA.1
Elizabeth Todd died before 30 December 1690 at St. Anne's Parish, Anne Arundel Co., Maryland, USA.1
; I have two different possible wives for this Cornelius HOWARD: 1) an Elizabeth #1 TODD (m.ca 1663), and 2) and Elizabeth #2 GORSUCH (m.1662). Elizabeth #1 is posited by the Early Col. Settlers website (without source cited). Elizabeth #2 is posited by the Genealogics website (also without source cited). I have no other information the marriage that will help me distinguish the real wife. The Elizabeth #2 GORSUCH posited by Genealogics is shows as the deau. of the Rev. John GORSUCH and Anne LOVELACE. However, Faris [1999:225] shows the dau. Elizabeth (of Johna and Anne (LOVELACE) GORSUCH) "...married HOWELL POWELL, of Talbot County, Maryland. Four children." The marriage of Elizabeth to Howell Powell be 7 July 1662 in Talbot Co., MD. Therefore I have chosed to believe that Cornelius HOWARD'S wife was Elizabeth TODD (#1). GA Vaut.2,3,4,5,6

BIRTH unknown
DEATH 1 Feb 1865
Company A, 9th Regiment, Indiana Infantry, Civil War. He initially enlisted Aug.16,1861, in Johnson Co., IN., as Moses E.Rawlings, in Co. I, 18th IN Infantry.. He was mustered out Aug.18,1864, then reenlisted Oct. 7,1864, as Moses E. Rollings, in Co., A 9th IN INF.. His widow filed for pensions in 1868 and 1873, at the later date as Caroline Colvin. He was the father of three daughters and a son.
The U.S. Register for the Death of Volunteers, 1861-1865, records his death date as Mar.28,1865. But National Cemetery Internment Control Form, 1928-1962, says Feb.1, 1865. It's definitely the same soldier. Since the Mar.28,1865 date was recorded in 1865,I'd say it's the correct one. He died Asylum G H, Knoxville TN, from chronic rheumatism.
I wonder if the Feb.1, 1865 date was when he was admitted to the hospital.
His full name was Moses Evermont Rollins, (or Rawlings), the son of Stephen Rawlings, (d.1866), [Find a Grave # 41970829 ], buried Mount Pleasant Cem., Franklin, Johnson Co., IN., and Mary (Rawlings) Rawlings. [His parents were 2nd cousins.] His wife, (md. Aug.1,1853 in Johnson Co., IN), was Caroline Harter, (1837-1874). She's supposed to be buried in Oak Hill Cem., Lebanon, Boone Co., IN., but she remarried once or twice,so I'm not sure if she's been added to Find a Grave yet. His birth year is usually listed as 1832, although some say 1831. (Additional information provided by NL Nuttall)

BIRTH 14 Jul 1837
DEATH 4 Feb 1874 (aged 36)
Her full name was Caroline (Harter) Rawlings Galvin, daughter of Plegmon and Martha Ann (Ashley) Harter.
Her first husband, married Aug. 1, 1853 Johnson Co., Indiana, was Moses Evermont Rawlings, (b. 1831 Johnson Co., Indiana - d. Mar. 28, 1865 Knoxville, Knox Co., Tennessee. He served as a private in Co. A 9th Indiana Volunteer Infantry and was buried as Moses Rollins in Knoxville National Cemetery, Knoxville, Knox Co., Tennessee. There's some confusion over his death date because the records from 1865 give Mar. 28, 1865, but the National Cemetery Internment Control Form, (1828-1962), which the Find a Grave submitter used, says Feb. 1, 1865. He died in the Asylum G H Knoxville from the effects of chronic rheumatism, so it's possible Feb. 1, 1865 was actually when he was admitted. We can be sure it's the same person because he enlisted as Rawlings, (also recorded as Rollings in some records); appears as Rawlins or Rollins in the death registers; and was listed as Rawlings when his widow Caroline applied for pensions in 1868, as Rawlings, and 1872 as Caroline Galvin.
Her 2nd marriage (as Caroline Rawlings) on Oct. 30, 1872 in Boone Co., Indiana, was to a Christopher C. Galvin, also buried Oak Hill Cemetery Boone Co., Indiana.
Inscription: Aged 36 Y. 7 M. & 21 D.

DEATH 26 Oct 1903 (aged 81), Johnson County, Indiana, USA
Franklin Democrat, Friday, 30 October 1903, pg 4
NEW PISGAH – Once more death’s ruthless scythe has swept across our land and removed from our midst a good mother, Aunt Mary Snow Vaught, mother of Jonathan and Reuben Vaught. On Friday, Oct. 16, she fell and broke her left hip, which, coupled with old age, was more than Aunt Mary could stand, and on Monday evening, Oct. 26th, she peacefully passed away. Her funeral was preached at the New Pisgah church, Wednesday afternoon, and was attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends, Rev. Cross, pastor of the Needham Christian church, of which she was a member, conducting the services. His sermon was an ideal one, full of sympathy and pathos.
The bereaved family has the heart-felt sympathy of all in the community.
The Franklin Republican, Friday, 30 October 1903, pg 1
Mary Snow Vaught died at her home in Clark township from injuries received from a fall which she received about ten days ago. Mary Snow Vaught was born in Kentucky, Feb. 17, 1822 died October 28, 1903, aged eighty-one years, eight months and nine days. She was married to G. W. Vaught April 4, 1839 with whom she lived until his death June 11, 1874. She came to this county when it was wilderness and settled on the farm where she had lived up to the time of her death. To this union were born twelve children, eight of whom survive. Six sons and two daughters, Tilson Vaught of Iola Kansas, Samuel S. Vaught of San Jose, Cal, Wm. A. Vaught of Kane, Ill., Mrs. Adaline Carver of Kokomo, Ill., Mrs. Frank Cole, of Greenwood, Geo. W. Vaught of Indianapolis, Reuben Vaught of Whiteland, and Johnathan Vaught. Thirty grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren also survive.
She has lived with her son, Johnathan Vaught for a number of years. She united with the Methodist church when nineteen years of age, but later joined the Christian church. She has lived a faithful Christian life, but on account of poor health and old age has not been able to attend church as she would have liked to have done, for some time. She was a great bible reader.
May her children live as faithful and be as well prepared when death shall come to them as it must to all sooner or later. Funeral was held at New Pisgah church Wednesday afternoon at 2:00, conducted by Elder J. M. Cross of Nineveh. Burial took place at the Patterson cemetery, E. G. Barnizer, director.

Daughter of Stephen and Mary (Rawlings) Rawlings. Married, (Oct.30, 1843), William Simpson Eaton. Living in Pendleton, Madison Co., IN., 1850. Mother of at least three children: Newton J Eaton, (1844-1880) Mary (Eaton) Chapin, (1846-1916); and Thomas Mortimer Eaton, (1852-1930).
Since the extensive work at preservation done by the "Madison County Cemetery Commision" has not resulted in the discovery of a grave marker for Zerelda, the exact location of her burial remains unknown. Her 1850 residence would suggest the Old Falls/Pendleton section of Grove Lawn Cem., Madison Co., IN., but nothing has been found to confirm this.
