James Spence was listed as John Parks (Sr.) and Mary "Polly" Evans's neighbor in a census in 1800 at Islands, Somerset Co., Maryland, USA;
This is one of two census listings that I have found which might be for John PARKS, SE. 100438. One is in the 'Islands," somerset Co., MD. the second is in Accomack Co., VA. Geographically, these are not so far apart. There is some evidence of John having been in Somerset Co., from birthin1756 to a land transaction on 14 April 1796. His sister, and her husband, James and Elizabeth (PARKS) SPENCE, seemed to have remained in Somerset Co., while his brother, Job PARKS, Jr. apparently settled in Accomack Co., VA around 1800. Again there are records for the name "Job PARKS" from both Somerset Co. and Accomack Co. for the same years.
The presence of multiple EVANS families on the same two 1800 federal census pages for Islands, Somerset Co., MD also lends credence to the likelihood that this is the same John PARKS and his son, John PARKS, Jr. on this page. John Sr. is listed between a James SPENCE (likely his brother-in-law) and John Jr. (his son. There are also many intermarriages between the PARKS and EVANS families, including John Sr.'s own wife (Mary "Polly EVANS), his brother Job's wife (Rhoda EVANS), and one of his sons-in-law and a daughter-in-law. There are two other PARKS, a Richard and a Charles (Charles might be one of John Sr.'s other sons), and one CROCKETT.

There are two Charles PARKS households on this page. We know that Charles PARKS $100471 and his wife Brittania (BRADSHAW) PARKS #100618 were both living at the time of the 1830 census andh had multiple children - mostly grown. Neither of the households on p. 347 have both a male and woman of the ages of Charles (c55 in 1830)and Briatannia (c63 in 1830). Unless one of the was gone at the time of the enumberation, these households are apparently not for Charles PARKS #100471.

John Parks Jr. was listed as John Parks (Sr.) and Mary "Polly" Evans's neighbor in a census in 1800 at Islands, Somerset Co., Maryland, USA;

It is not clear who the older woman in this household might be, but the other older male and female match John and Mary (EVANS) PARKS Sr. John PARKS #100438 is next door to a younger John PARKS, possibly his son, John Jr. #100619.

There are three John PARKS on this page 118, along with aleast five other PARKS. Ancesry has transcirbe some of the names as "PARKER", but to me they all but perhaps 1 seem to be "PARKS".
I believe that the Johns on lines 3 and 4 actually were PARKS and were possibly, respectiely, John PARKS Senr #100438 (b 1756) and his son, John PARKS Junr #100639 (b ca1776), though the John PARKS Jr. enumerated is several years too young to match the birthdate I have at present for John PARKS Jr. #100619.

The PARKS family intermarried over several generations with ethe EVANS family, and rhere are multiple PARKS and EVANS families on these paages of the 1850 federal census. Some are easily identified.

There are a total of eleven EVANS households on these two pages: four on p. 424 and seven on p. 425:
p. 424, line 15
John Parks Jr. and Anna (?) appeared in the census of 1830 at District 3, Kent Co., Maryland, USA;
1830 United States Federal Census
There are John PARKS housholds listed in the 1830 federal census for Baltimore, Dorcheser, and Kent Counties., MD and in Accomack Co., VA. My understanding is that John PARKS Sr. # 100438 was born in Somerset Co., MD and that his son, John PARKS Jr. #100619 was also born there. Both were probably "watermen" (oyster fishermen).
In 1830, John PARKS Sr. # 100438 (born) 1756) would have been ca 74 years old and classified in the census as aged 70-79. John PARKS Jr. #100619 (b. ca 1776) would have been ca 53 years old and classified in the census as aged 50-59.
The PARKS and EVANS families intermarried multiple times over several generations. John PARKS Sr. # 100438 married an EVANS and had an EVANS brother-in-law and two EVANS sons-inlaw. Thus the presence of other EVANS families in the same census area (even the same census page) lends some support to the idea that a John PARKS on that same page might be either John PARKS Sr. # 100438 or John PARKS Jr. #100619.
Maryland
There are no John PARKS listed in the 1830 census for Somerset Co., MD, but there are a total of three in Maryland: one in Dorchester Co., one in Kent Co., and one in Baltimore Co.
Thus, it is possible that John PARKS Jr. #100619 moved to Kent Co. sometime
Accomack Co., Virginia
There are two John PARKS's in the 1830 federal census for Accomack Co., VA. One is a "John Parks Sr." and the other is a John D. PARKS". They are side-by-side on the same page. (lines 226 and 27 on p. 347). There are a total of ten PARKS (PARKES) households on this census page, which is in alphabetical order, so does not necessarily represent physical proximity. Two of those listed (a Charles and one of the other John's) might be sons. of John PARKS Sr. #100438. Since the page is in alphabeticl order, there are no EVANS families on the same page, but

John Parks Jr. died on 24 January 1861 at Deal Island, Somerset Co., Maryland, USA.6
John Parks Jr. was listed as John Parks (Sr.) and Mary "Polly" Evans's neighbor in a census in 1800 at Islands, Somerset Co., Maryland, USA;

It is not clear who the older woman in this household might be, but the other older male and female match John and Mary (EVANS) PARKS Sr. John PARKS #100438 is next door to a younger John PARKS, possibly his son, John Jr. #100619.

John Parks Jr. and Anna (?) appeared in the census of 1830 at District 3, Kent Co., Maryland, USA;
-- BaltimoreCo., MD: A single John PARKS, the only PARK household is listed. It is a young couple, both aged 20-29 (i.e., born 1801-1810), with no children. Thus, this listing is neither John PARKS Sr. # 100438 or John PARKS Jr. #100619.
-- Dorchester Co., MD: An Arthur and a John PARKS are listed next to each other. there are no EVANS on the page. This John PARKS and the oldest female in the houshole, are both aged 40-49, probably too young to be John PARKS Jr. #100619 and his wife.
-- Kent Co., MD: There is one PARK household (a John PARKS), as well as Jonathan RAISIN. (A PARKS descendant married into the RASIN line some years later.) There re no EVANS families on this page. This John Parks and the oldest female in the houshole, are both aged 50-59, and of the appropriate age range to be John PARKS Jr. #100619 and his wife.

Jemima Parks was born circa 1785 at Somerset Co., Maryland, USA.1
;
The children of John PARKS #100438 and Mary "Polly" EVANS #100439 (attached image).
Excerpt from the book The Parks of the Chesapeake by Gail M. Walczyk, 2005.2
Jemima Parks was listed as a resident in John Parks (Sr.) and Mary "Polly" Evans's household in the census report in 1810 at Accomack, Accomack Co., Virginia, USA;
There are three John PARKS on this page 118, along with aleast five other PARKS. Ancesry has transcirbe some of the names as "PARKER", but to me they all but perhaps 1 seem to be "PARKS".
I believe tht the Johns on lines 3 and 4 actually read PARKS and are, respectiely, John PARKS Senr #100438 (b 1756) and his son, John PARKS Junr #100639 (b ca1776).

Jemima Parks was listed as a resident in John Parks (Sr.) and Mary "Polly" Evans's household in the census report on 7 August 1820 at Election District 3, Somerset Co., Maryland, USA;
1820 United States Federal Census
There are three PARKS households on these two pages (pp. 432-4)
Line Name
4 John PARKS <-- father of Reuben #71532 (line 8) and Charles #100471 (line 6)
6 Charles PARKS <-- Son of John PARKS #100438 (line 4), brother of Reuben #71532 (line 8)
8 Ruben PARKS <-- Son of John PARKS #100438 (line 4), brother of Charles #100471 (line 6)
In the 1820 and 1830 censuses, Reuben's father is listed as "John PARKS". In the 1820 census (p. 433, line 4). The same tree also shows two brothers of Reuben named Charles PARKS (1755-1753) and John PARKS (1778-1862), so these other two PARKS households are likely related to Reuben: his father and brother or two brothers.
Interestingly, there is a William CROSWELL (line 7) on the same page, who could be a relative of Ruben's wife Priscilla (CROSWELL).
There are also four EVANS households on the same page:
Line Name
16 Elizabeth EVANS
17 Zachariah EVANS
18 Sarah EVANS
19 Peter EVANS
Some Ancestry family trees such as the Craig Family Tree show Reuben Parks' mother to have been an EVANS: Mary Polly EVANS (1761-1832, dau. of a Richard EVANS (1738-1824). Mary Polly EVANS married Reuben's father, John Charles PARKS (1756-1847).
p. 433, line 14
John is next dorr to his son, Abel PARKS #100621.
