Esther Cray was born before 1744. She married Adam Ramberger, son of Bartholemeus Ramberger, on 4 July 1765 at Parsonage, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Holland, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania, USA.
Esther Cray died circa 1805; Ms. Walburn has asked that the possible date of death of ca 1805 be disregarded: " I do not have any real proof that Esther died around 1804-1805, and it is
only a possibility that she did. I feel uncomfortable having information on the internet which I do not have
any proof for, and do not want people contacting me asking me how I know this is so."1

"Benjamin Hyskell: The Hyskell family came from Germany and settled in Philadelphia, but one of its members, Benjamin, subsequently became a citizen of Dauphin County. Of his ten children David and John moved to Indiana County, Jacob to Iowa, Thomas B. occupies the homestead. The daughters married Henry Funk, John Henderson, John Mothersbaugh, Jacob Rider, Martin Weston and Thomas Elway, all of Warrior’s Mark Township.

In early manhood emigrated with his parents to America, landing in Norfolk, Virginia, One of his brothers went to Greenbrier and bought four thousand acres of land, but never occupied it, as he was killed by the Indians. Another brother remained in Virginia, where his descendants still reside, some of them prominent men in State affairs. Benjamin remained in Virginia until after his marriage to Miss Margaret Specard, who was born in Germany in August
1748, from whence came with her parents in 1754. Their union was blessed by two sons and six daughters. About the year 1792 Benjamin came with his family to Warrior’s Mark Township, in Huntingdon (then Bedford) County, and settled on three hundred acres of land which his sons Frederick and George had previously purchased and on part of which Thomas B. Hyskell now resides."1 Benjamin Hyskell was also known as Benjamin Heiskell. Benjamin Hyskell was also known as Benjamin Heuschkell. Sarah Jane Hyskill was a daughter of George Hyskill and Eve Gray, who were among the very earliest settlers of Clarion County (abt 1822). She married Jacob Weiser Kahl in 1818 at Warriors Mark Twp., Huntingdon County, PA. Her place of burial is the Methodist Church Cemetery at Shippenville, Clarion County, PA.
Her name is often misspelled by family tree collectors as Sarah Hyskell Kahle and Sarah Hyskill Kahle. The name changed through the generations, however, this couple went by KAHL.

Note that the photograph of Sarah at right is cropped from a copy of the original given to me by a great-Uncle by the name of Don Kahle. With Uncle Don's consent, I contributed the photograph for publication in the two-volume books called "Weiser Families in America," edited by Frederick S. Weiser and published in about 1995 and it has since been making the rounds on various internet sites. Uncle Don would be happy to know that many people are enjoying the effort he made to preserve this photograph. If you use this photograph, it sure would be nice if you cite where you found it by referring to this webpage, so Great Uncle Don's and his wife, Pauline's contribution to the preservation of family history may be remembered. If it wasn't for them, no one would have the photo of Sarah and Jacob Kahl.
