Isabella Madison was born in 1740.1 She married Capt. Nathaniel Abney before 1759.4
Isabella Madison was buried in 1806 at Nathaniel Abney Cemetery, Saluda, Saluda Co., South Carolina, USA;
From Find A Grave:
BIRTH 1740
DEATH 1806 (aged 65–66)
Nathaniel Abney and Isabella Todd Madison were married on April 15, 1758 in Augusta Co., VA Isabella Madison was the daughter of John Madison Jr. & Isabella Minor Todd Madison...(10/2020..it is now believed she was their granddaughter & daughter of John's brother, Henry Madison).
From John Chapman's History of Edgefield: "Isabella Madison, the wife of Nathaniel Abney, was a great and wise woman, ruling her household of children and servants with a firm but gentle hand, wisely and well. Twelve children were the fruit of this union. Their youngest son, Azariah Abney, lived and died on the original homestead, and it is still in the family, owned in 1891 by Joel Abney, a grandson of Azariah. Dr. M. W. Abney, of Edgefield, was descended from this pair through his mother, Martha Wills, who was a granddaughter of Nathaniel Abney. Isabella Abney Boykin, daughter of Dr. M. W. Abney - died in 1889 - was as queenly and wise as her great ancestress.
Nathaniel Abney was captain of a militia company under Major Andrew Williamson at Ninety-Six, November 15th, 1775, but what part he took after the war was fairly begun, and after the Declaration of Independence does not appear. But he was on the side of Independence.
These Abneys all obtained grants of land before the Revolutionary War; but there were several others, not yet mentioned, to whom lands were granted after the war. John Abney, February 5th, 1798; Paul Abney, February 5th, 1798; Samuel Abney, January 7th, 1811. As large as this family was at the beginning of the century, and for some years afterwards, there are but few persons who now bear the name in Edgefield County. I should have mentioned just above, that the Rev. Mark Abney, so well known at Edgefield and in the county; the good, the pious Christian and useful Baptist preacher, was also a descendant, a grandson, of Nathaniel Abney and Isabella Madison."
+++Henry Madison, son of John Madison and Isabella Minor, was born circa 1699 at King William County, VA.[1][2] He died before Aug 1757 at Lunenburg County, VA, when his orphans Isabell and Henry chose guardians.[2]
He married Elizabeth COLEMAN; children (surname MADISON):[2][3]
Judith - b. c1726; d. 28 Jul 1806; m. William POWERS
Dorothy - b. c1730; d. 1781; m1. Major POWERS s/o John; m2. WIlliam GROOM

On 21 Jan 1705/6, Henry was granted power of attorney to acknowledge the signature of his mother Isabella on a deed, witnessed by John Madison Jr at King William County, VA.[3] On 28 Sep 1728, Henry, brother of Ambrose, patented 1000 acres adjacent to James Madison, George Penn, and Zachary Taylor at Spotsylvania County, VA.1[1] An indenture was filed on 27 Jun 1754 at Orange County, VA, between Henry MADISON "unto my well beloved niece, Frances Madison, youngest daughter of my Brother Ambrose Madison, Decd," etc. 1000 a. granted sd.
