BIOGRAPHY
Lawrence Washington was born about 1568 the son of Robert Washington and Elizabeth Light.

On 3 August 1588 at Aston-le-Walls, Lawrence married Margaret Butler, daughter of William Butler and Margaret Greeke.

On 1 May 1601 his father surrendered Sulgrave Manor to him. He sold the demesne lands to Thomas Atkins but retained the Manor House and seven acres of land until 1 March 1610, when he sold the reversion to his cousin Lawrence Makepeace.

Lawrence Washington died on 13 December 1616 at Brington, Northamptonshire. His widow died in 1652.2

Robert Washington, who purchased, 1600, the Manor of Nether Boddington from his s-in-law Alban Wakelyn, was b 1544; m 1st Dec 1564, [7273] Elizabeth, dau and heir of Walter Lyte, of Radway Grange, co. Warwick, and of Brackley, co. Northampton, and by her had issue. Robert Washington m 2nd before 25 March, 1599, Anne Fisher, (who removed from Sulgrave Manor House in 1626 to East Haddon, co. Northampton, where she was bur 16 March, 1652), and was bur at Sulgrave 1620 (will 7 Feb 1620; pr. 3 Jan 1621), having by her had further issue.1

From Genealogics: Robert Washington was born about 1544, the son of Lawrence Washington and Amy Pargiter. On 1 December 1565 he married Elizabeth Light, daughter of Walter Light of Radway Range. In 1584 he inherited Sulgrave Manor which, on 1 May 1601, he passed on to his eldest son, Lawrence. In 1600 he had bought the manor of Nether Boddington from his son-in-law Alban Wakelyn. Elizabeth Light died about 1599. Robert Washington died on 10 March 1619 or 1620.2
