But also says (Hay Marquess of Tweedle) that Elizabeth, dau of 2nd Lord Hay of YEster married 5th Lord Saltoun. It is not clear if he had two wives named Elizabeth Hay or if there is a mistake.¹ She married William Abernethy 5th Lord Saltoun, son of Alexander Abernethy 4th Lord Saltoun and Lady (?) Stewart, in 1512
; Burke's Peerage (Saltoun Family Page) points out that there is a confusion as to which Elizabeth Hay married William, 5th Lord Saltoun.³
