; Further to my post about the Fleming family, please find below a tentative reconstruction of the descendents of Adam fitz Swain's brother Henry. Much of this information is gleaned from Nicholson and Burn, as well as RR Sowerby's "Historical Castle Sowerby". I am attempting to verify all the data and apply source references to the people mentioned, I will keep the group posted.
1 Ailric married ?
1.1 Swain married ?daughter of Herveus de Vesci (Skaife, Yorkshire Domesday) Given Sowerby temp Edward Confessor. This states that the Barony comprised Culgaith, Blencarn, Skirwith, Melmerby, Ainstable, Langwathy, Edenhall, Ousby, Glassonby, Gamblesby, Kirkoswald, Hareskeugh and Huddleskeugh. Materials for this period seem to be very scanty and I am attempting to contact specialists in the history of the area. As for the manor of Sowerby, the following can be added.
Before 1218 Sowerby reverted to the Crown. In 1218 King John granted it to Robert de Ros in leiu of the loss of his Normandy lands. It was held by him until 1237.
In 1242, in part settlement of the claims of the king of Scotland to lands in Cumberland, the Sheriff of Cumberland was ordered to give seisin of the manors of Langwathby, Salkeld, Scotby, Sowerby and Carlatton together with land of £60 annual value to Alexander II of Scotland.
In 1257 Alexander III of Scotland gave to Queen Margaret the manor of Sowerby as her own.

"Roger de Montbegon (Roger de Mumbezon, Roger de Mont Begon) (died 1226) was a landowner in northern England (especially or particularly Lancashire), Baron of Hornby, and one of Magna Carta sureties.
"There is a scholarly debate about his place in the list of sureties. J. C. Holt[1] takes it that Matthew Paris made a mistake in replacing his name with 'Roger de Mowbray'. According to the record publicized by the National Society Magna Charta Dames and Barons, Roger abandoned the sureties and therefore Roger de Mowbray (younger brother of William de Mowbray, another surety) was substituted for him; this probably explains Matthew Paris' alleged error.[2][3]

The Council of Twenty-Five Barons
"The names of the Twenty-Five Barons appointed under clause 61 to monitor John's future conduct are not given in the charter itself, but do appear in four early sources, all seemingly based on a contemporary listing: a late 13th-century collection of law tracts and statutes, a Reading Abbey manuscript now in Lambeth Palace Library, and the Chronica Majora and Liber Additamentorum of Matthew Paris.[63][64][65] The process of appointment is not known, but the names were drawn almost exclusively from among John's more active opponents.[66] They are listed here in the order in which they appear in the original sources:

Excommunicated rebels
"In September 1215, the papal commissioners in England – Subdeacon Pandulf, Peter des Roches, Bishop of Winchester, and Simon, Abbot of Reading – excommunicated the rebels, acting on instructions earlier received from Rome. A letter sent by the commissioners from Dover on 5 September to Archbishop Langton explicitly names nine senior rebel barons (all members of the Council of Twenty-Five), and six clerics numbered among the rebel ranks:[67]
