Sir Ralph de Bracebridge of Bracebridge, co. Lincs. and Kingsbury, co. Warwick died before July 1252.1
;
From Ravilious email: Sir Ralph de Bracebridge
Death: bef Jul 1252[7],[9]
of Bracebridge, co. Lincs. and Kingsbury, co. Warwick [10]
' On 8 June 1231, occasioned no doubt by Ralph's marriage, father and son came to an arrangement. By means of an intermediary Ralph received the small manor of Bracebridge in Lincolnshire, together with Kimberley in Kingsbury and several minor properties, presumably in Lincolnshire, including 60s land in Lincoln itself. Should he die in his father's lifetime, all of this should pass to his wife, Eva, for life as the lands with which she was expressly dowered. ' [Coss p. 286[7], cites FF Warwicks., No. 443; Close Rolls 1242-7, p. 116]
' On 1 August 1248 an indenture was drawn up between Ralph de Bracebridge and Thomas de Cliff. Ralph bound himself to pay 19 1/2 marks to Thomas within twelve months under penalty of a further payment of 10 marks. In return Thomas agreed to demise to Ralph his entire land and his houses at Cliff, at whatever point during the year the money would actually be paid. ' [Coss p. 285[7], cites Middleton Deeds Nos. 3970, 4072-3]
' ... Ralph was in contention with the nuns of Polesworth over Kingsbury Mills, a matter that was settled by final concord at the end of January 1249. This time the property had been conveyed by the two elder daughters of Osbert de Arden and their husbands. ' [Coss p. 284[7], cites Middleton Deeds Nos. 4050 et seq.]
