Isaac Ashley died between 24 January 1709 and 29 March 1709.1
Isaac Ashley lived at Maryland, USA; per Price [1997]: "Isaac Ashley first lived with his family in Va. They then moved to NC, but Isaac moved to Md where he married and his descendants still live today."2 He was a mentioned with John Ashley; NB Some of my data on the Ashley family comes from Price [1997]. Images of this report are attached.2 Isaac Ashley was a mentioned with Susannah Nalle and John Burke at Citation; Per Dolphin & Nall [1978:43]:
"Susannah (Nail) Burk's children have been identified through the selling of their shares of the legacy of their grandfather, Richard Nalle. "Power of attorney: I Richard Burk of the County of Culpeper and State of Virginia having a title to a one-sixth part of an undivided tract of land containing about seven hundred acres lying on Beech Fork of Salt River in Nelson Co., Ky. — which said land was willed to me and my five brothers and sisters by our Grandfather Richard Nail deceased." Since it was difficult for him to attend in person, he said, he was appointing "my friend Abijah Dulany my attorney." The document was dated 1 Sept. 1804. Similar instruments were conveyed by William Burk, 9 Oct. 1802, of Culpeper Co., Va; Benjamin Carpenter and his wife Susanna, 1 Feb. 1804, of Madison Co., Va; and Adam Wayland of Madison Co., Va.4 Edmund Burk transmitted his power of attorney to John Nalle.5 Later in the proceedings Abijah Dulany acted "as for himself" and the other heirs.6 Several documents are recorded in Nelson Co., Ky., concerning the dispostion of the land of "Richard Nalle, dec'd" by his heirs. Culpeper Co., Va., marriage records have identified the names of Susannah (Nail) Burk's daughters and daughters-inlaw.7

pg. 414 NERIAH TODD,
farmer and breeder of blooded stock. Even before the war, central Missouri had a widespread reputation throughout the Mississippi and Missouri river states as an important centre of blooded stock. Conspicuous among the citizens of Howard county who have engaged largely in this business is Neriah TODD, the subject of this sketch, and his son Chenault. It is not, of course, the province of a biographical outline to give in detail the business in which its subject is engaged, and the fact can therefore only be noted that the Messrs. TODD, father and son, rank among the prominent short-horn stockmen of the county. Mr. N. TODD has a farm of 526 acres and makes a specialty of raising Durham cattle, of which he has one of the finest herds in the county. His son is largely engaged in this business, having begun in 1870, buying his breeders from the best stock in Kentucky and Illinois. He has a large herd, at the head of which is "Sharon Geneva," a fine Durham bullock, of the pure Rose of Sharon breed, raised by Mr. A. Renick, of Kentucky. Neriah TODD's father, Thomas TODD, was a native of North Carolina, and was born December 25, 1771. He came to Kentucky in 1790, and March 5, 1795, married Mary CHENAULT, of the latter state, who was born May 14, 1775. They had eight children, of whom Neriah TODD was one. In 1816, when young Neriah TODD was but twelve years old, they immigrated to Howard county, Missouri, settling first at New Franklin, and afterward, in 1820, they settled on the place where Neriah now lives, and where his parents died. His father died June 12, 1857, and his mother, June 2, 1834. Mr. TODD, the father, was prominently identified with the development of Howard county, and was regarded as an intelligent, energetic and upright citizen and farmer. Neriah was born in Madison county, Kentucky, December 4, 1804, but principally reared in this county. He lived with his father on the home farm until 1829, when he improved a farm in Section 2, but returned to the home in 1850. He was married December 15, 1829, to Miss Minerva, who was born in Kentucky June 2, 1806, a daughter of William HOCKER, an old citizen of Howard county, he having settled there in 1824, and of this marriage there are eight children: William, Thomas, Eugene, James, Sarah, Neriah Jr., Elizabeth, and Chenault. He has been a member of the Baptist church thirty years.5,6 Neriah Todd was also known as Neriah Croce Todd.7

"Death of Joseph Todd: By special despatch we learn of the death of Joseph Todd at his residence in Platte County, on the 28th inst. He was one of the pioneers of the Platte purchase having settled near the farm on which he died when the Indians held possession of that country. The old home now stands on the next farm, which was the issue house of rations to the Indians, in that early time. He emigrated to this state from Kentucky, where one of the counties bears the family name, and his connection is one of the largest and most influential in the Platte Purchase. He died full of years and honors, a man of strict integrity, sterling sense and as honest as the day. We will never see the like of Uncle Joe Todd." Courtesy of Phil Sifers (#47270616)
