James Wroth, emigrated in 1665 from England as an identured servant to Joseph Hopkins, illerate in 1672 but literate by 1682, gentleman by 1688, resided at "Draycott" on the south side of the Sassafras River in Baltimore County (later Cecil Co) by 1670, on Langford Bay, Kent Co by 1694; purchased Reurdon, his dwelling plantation in 1699. He married three times first by 1670 to Elizabeth, 2nd to Ann Kinvin, 3rd by 1700 Mary who later married John Price abt 1707/8. lists children. He served in Lower House 1692-1693 from Cecil Co., was a justice from Cecil County 1685-1688. He was accused of malfeasance. He bought 225 acres in Baltimore County and had patent on 800 acres in Kent Co. At time of his death he had 2,500 acres in Kent and Talbot Co (later Queen Anne's Co). 2,020 were sold to satisfy his debts. He was Anglican and attended St. Paul's Church. Biographical Dictionary of the Maryland Legislature by Papenfuse Vol 2 I-Z James is said to have a sister Parnell who married Henry Eldersley died 1708 per Bio. Dic.
Immigration records by Skordas shows a James Wrath transported in 1664 servant, of Baltimore Co Liber 8 p 128. A Parnall Wrath transported 1665 Liber 9 p 25.
DEED: Daniel Sullivan acknowledged receiving 20,000 lbs of tobacco from James Wroth in marriage with his dau. (Elizabeth) Aug. 5, 1698 LR GL #1:4B per Col. Families of Eastern Shore. p.355. One of James' daughters married Daniel Sullivan.

Probably the son of Richard Willis of Kent Co who had a will as follows: To my son Richard all that part of my plantation whereon I now live which lies to the S of the Worton Road on road leading from Worton to Chestertown during his life and after his death to Richard Willis second son of my son Richard. As I have given to my son Richard and his family so considerable part of my property that my personal property be clear of debt and my debts charged to said land. To my son Amos Willis all part of tract called "Ashley's Lot" and 5 acres of tract called "Coney Warren" laid off adjoining land of Richard Frisby. Remainder of my lands to my 2 sons John Willis and Joel Willis to be divided between them by a line from E to W and John to have N side and Joel to have S side. To my son Amos a negro boy Joe and his choice of one bed and its furniture. To my dau. Hannah Lynch during her life a negro woman Beck and her dau.
