James M. Lillard died on 10 October 1896 at age 90; Obituary copied on FindAGrave, without citation:
[quote] James M. Lillard, the eldest son of David Lillard had moved with his wife to Lewis County, Missouri in 1833. He had commenced going forward in public in Kentucky, and was likely licensed to preach by Ten Mile. He soon founded a church in his new home and named it Ten Mile after th eone he left in Kentucky. In 1845, he organized the Wyaconda Association, which has become one of the largest and most efficient bodies in Missouri. Elder Lillard founded church after church in the new west, and while his fatherwas at work in Kentucky, he was equally active in Missouri. In 1849 he journeyed to the gold regions of california. Here he dug gold during the week and preached to the miners on Sundays for two years. On returning to Missouri, he continued to work for his Master until he went to his rest, October 10, 1896, aged 90 years.
Ten Mile at this time(1842) numbered about 400 members. The revival continued to spread throughout the bounds of Ten Mile Association and others. Popular Grove received nearly 200. At the Association, the letters from the churches reported an increase of 7532 by baptism, 46 by relation, and 20 restored. The Association increased from 472 the year previous, to 1,296 members. Elder Lillard was at this time in the full vigor of his manhood -
stout and active, zealous in his Master's cause, rich in this world's goods. He owned a fine farm of 500 acres, best virgin land, a large number of blacks, and prosperity and success attended him in everything. He rode throughout the Association, preaching everywhere and did an amount of work, the results of which eternity will unfold. [end quote]5

President George Washington was born on 11 February 1731/32 at Pope's Creek, Westmoreland Co., Virginia, USA.2,3 He married Martha Dandridge, daughter of Col. John Dandridge and Frances Jones, on 6 January 1759 at New Kent Co., Virginia, USA.3,4,1
President George Washington died on 14 December 1799 at Mt. Vernon, Fairfax Co., Virginia, USA, at age 67.3,4
; GEN. GEORGE WASHINGTON, of Mt. Vernon (to which he succeeded under the will of his half brother Lawrence), FIRST PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES; b 22 Feb 1732 at Bridges Creek, nr Fredericksburg, Westmoreland co., Virginia; m 6 Jan 1759, Martha (d 22 May, 1802), eldest dau of Col John Dandridge, of The White House, New Kent co., Va., and widow of Col Daniel Parke Custis.
The eminent patriot was trained in early life for the profession of Surveyor, and acted as Assist-Surveyor to an expedition despatched to the Shenandoah Valley in 1748 by Thomas, 6th Baron Fairfax through whose patronage he became Public Surveyor for Fairfax co., in which capacity he made numerous journeys to the hinterland of Virginia thereby acquiring a knowledge of the American wilderness which was of signal service in his military career. He was appointed adjutant of a military district with rank of Maj 1752, and commissioned 31 Oct 1753 by Govr Dinwiddie to convey a protest to French intruders in Ohio Valley; with Col Joshua Fry led a military expedition to enforce the protest 1754 but was compelled to surrender at Great Meadows (promoted Col but resigned his commission as protest against slighting of colonial officers by home government); he served in Braddock's expedition 1758 as personal Aide with courtesy rank of Col, gaining great reputation for his distinguished part in extricating that force from the disaster near Fort Duquesne, and was promoted to command the Virginia Forces, but resigned his commission after a short period of service, living for many years as a country gentleman on his estate at Mt. Vernon. A Member of the Virginia House of Burgesses of moderate Whig sympathies, he took the side of the colonists in the dispute with the home government on fiscal policy, was one of the Virginian Delegates to Continental Congress, and Chm of the Committee of Safety of Fairfax co. On 13 June, 1775, he was appointed Count-in-C. the military forces of the revolted colonies; captured Boston Mar. 1776, but was defeated on Long Island later in the year and retired to New Jersey; broke up from quarters and won victories at Princeton and Trenton in mid-winter 1776-77, but was defeated by Howe at Brandywine Creek, 11 Sept 1777, losing Philadelphia, and being defeated again at Germantown, retired to Vally Forge, Pa., where his army suffered terrible hardships. Overcoming great political and military dangers by an endurance and moral force, seldom equalled in history, he was enabled with French assistance to beleaguer and capture the army of Lord Cornwallis at Yorktown, Virginia in 1781, a great and decisive victory which virtually terminated the war; he resigned his commission as Commander-in-Ch to the Continental Congress at Annapolis, Md., 4 Dec 1783, and retired to Mt. Vernon. Gen Washington was a Delegate for Virginia to the Constitutional Convention at Philadelphia 1787, and unanimously chosen as President of that body; on 30 April, 1789, he was inaugurated President of the United States of America; was elected for a second term 1792; maintained neutrality on the outbreak of the great European conflagration in 1793; published his Farewell Address 19 Sept 1796, and ret once more to Mt. Vernon 1797, but on threat of war with France 1798 was again appointed Count-in-C. At his decease s.p. 14 Dec 1799, at Mt. Vernon, Gen Washington was s in his estates by his nephew, HON.
