"Killed in battle. Ulrich, Graf von Württemberg, was born after 1340, the son of Eberhard II 'der Greiner', Graf von Württemberg, and Gräfin Elisabeth von Henneberg-Schleusingen. After 26 April 1362 he married Elisabeth von Bayern, widow of Cangrande II della Scala, lord of Verona and Vicenza, and daughter of Emperor Ludwig IV 'der Bayer' and his second wife Margaretha, Gravin van Holland, Zeeland en Henegouwen. They had three sons and a daughter of whom only Eberhard III would have progeny.
"After the death of his uncle Ulrich IV in 1366, Ulrich ruled Württemberg jointly with his father Eberhard II. In 1367, while they were staying in Wildbad, they both escaped from an ambush by Graf Wolf von Eberstein. In retaliation they seized the castle of Neueberstein though they were unable to hold it. Ulrich's father then strongly opposed the imperial free cities, which stood in the way of the expansion of Württemberg's territory. In 1372 near Altheim, Ulrich helped his father to the first victory of Württemberg against the cities. On 14 May 1377 Ulrich led a large force of knights in the castle of Achalm when mercenaries from the free imperial city of Reutlingen embarked on a looting raid into Württemberg territory. In what became known as the Battle of Reutlingen, Ulrich attacked them on their return march, which passed close to the castle of Achalm. Ulrich's force withdrew after heavy losses, and he himself was wounded in the battle.
"In 1380 Ulrich joined the Löwenbund, an alliance of the nobility against the cities. Ulrich thereby became a link between the county of Württemberg sand other noble houses against the Swabian Cities League formed in 1376, which reached its climax in the Battle of Döffingen on 23 August 1388. The vanguard of the nobles' army, led by Ulrich, was nearly destroyed in the course of the battle and Ulrich was killed. After the arrival of the main army led by his father, the battle was won by the Löwenbund forces. Ulrich was buried, like his forebears, in the Stiftskirche in Stuttgart. On the 500th anniversary of his death a stone memorial was erected at Döffingen in his honour.
"Ulrich's deeds at Döffingen and his death are commemorated in the poem _Graf Eberhard der Greiner von Württemberg_ by Friedrich Schiller (1759-1805)."4

“Giberto da Correggio was the son of Guido V (Guy) da Correggio and Mabile della Gente. He married four times. With Helena Malaspina, daughter of Morello Malaspina, marquis of Mulazzo, and his wife Berlande, he had four children, Simone, Beatrice, Antonia and Guido. With a lady of the da Camino family of Verona he had a son Azzo who would have progeny and would succeed him. In 1312 Giberto married Elena di Langosco, daughter of Filippone di Langosco. This marriage did not result in progeny. In 1314 he married his last wife Maddalena Rossi, daughter of Guglielmo Rossi and Donella da Carrara. They had three children, Giovanni, Beatrice and Donella.
“Giberto entered public life in 1303, when he managed to reconcile the long feuding families of Parma, and to draw in those who had been expelled or had fled, except for the Rossi family, which remained opposed to him. He was acclaimed by the people and elected lord and protector of the city, becoming known as 'the Defender of Parma'. During his rule he acquired for his family the castles of Campagnola and Fabbrico thanks to repeated military successes over the rival families of Rossi and Este, and a shrewd policy of matrimonial alliances. Always engaged in local wars, Giberto sided at different times with both the Ghibellines and Guelphs. A close supporter of Emperor Heinrich VII at the time of his coronation with the Lombard crown in Milan in January 1311, he became an ally of the Guelphs in peace negotiations with the imperial supporters of the Hohenstaufen a few years later. A local revolt in 1316, led by some of his opponents of years earlier including the Rossi family, forced him to take refuge in the family estate of Castelnuovo di Sotto, where he died on 26 July 1326.”.1
