Piers Tempest
Birth     unknown, Bracewell, Pendle Borough, Lancashire, England
Death     1417
Burial     Saint Michael's Church, Bracewell, Pendle Borough, Lancashire, England
Note: Death year is approximate - Known to be in France in 1417 and before his wife remarried in 1422 - His burial is not confirmed as being at Bracewell
John Burke's description of the Tempest family line showed Piers was serving in France under Lord Clifford in 1417 and states that he died soon after. John Burke named Piers' wife as Grace daughter and coheir of Sir Nicholas de Hebden, stating they married about 1400 and naming Grace's later husbands, Sir William Frank (showing they married in 1422) and Thomas Darby.
Sir Piers Tempest, of Bracewell, who accompanied Henry V into France, and shared in the glories of Agincourt, upon which celebrated field he was received the honour of knighthood. He married the daughter and heiress of Sir Nicholas Hedben, of Hebden (by his wife, the heiress of the ancient family of Rie), and with her had two daughters, Elizabeth wife of Sir Thomas Holland and Margaret, as well as a son and successor, Sir John Tempest.
