Derby, son and heir, was married for the first time to ELIZABETH NEVILLE, second daughter and co-heiress of William Neville, Earl of Kent (descendant of King Edward III), by Joan, daughter of Thomas Fauconberg, Knt. (of Magna Carta Surety descent and descendant of Charlemagne) [see BEAUFORT 10 for her ancestry]. She was born about 1435 (aged twenty-eight and more in 1463), and was co-heiress to half of the Barony of Fauconberge. He was married for the second time to JOANNA ASHTON, widow of Roger Dutton, and daughter of John Ashton. SIR RICHARD STRANGEWAYS died on 13 Apr. 1488. The will of his widow was dated 1501/2.

Faris (1999, p. 323): "KATHERINE STANLEY, heiress of the Manor of Camden, was married to JOHN SAVAGE, K.G., of Clifton and Rocksavage, Knight of the Body, son of John Savage, Knt., of Clifton (of Magna Carta Surety descent and descendant of Charlemagne), by Eleanor, daughter of William Brereton, Knt., of Brereton, Egerton, co. Chester. He was born about 1423 (aged forty in 1463), and fought at Bosworth in 1485. SIR JOHN SAVAGE died aged seventy-three years on 22 Nov. 1495, buried at Macclesfield.
