; My three major sources on William III Robertson have been:
     1. Stephen [1921-22:16:1311]
     2. Pitcairn [1905:473]
     3. van de Pas' Genelogics (who cites Roberts [2008:101]
     4. The Find A Grave memorial for Rev William Robertson (1624-1708)
It is now pretty clear to me that the Find A Grave memorial contains some major errors and may have mixed up two different individuals.
Stephen [1920-21:16:1311] is clear that the Rev. William IV Robertson, D. D., was the son of Rev. William Robertson and Eleanor Pitcairn, but his given date of birth would not accomodate the birth/death dates given for William III on the Find A Grave memorial. Further, Stephen [1920-21:16:1311] says that William III died 16 Nov. 1745 and married Eleanor on 20 Oct. 1720.
Pitcairn [1905:473] offers no dates for William III or for his marriage to Eleanor.
I can't resolve the contradictions at this stage. GA Vaut.18,19,3,20,21,22
