Harriet was the oldest child of Henry Russell and Martha "Patsy" Susong.
Harriet's 1850 census shows her at age 19 living with and presumably assisting her paternal grandparents, Hezekiah Russell and Margaret, in their household in Greene, Tennessee.
Even though the 1850 Census shows Harriet not living in the household of her father Henry Russell, the 1840 census of Henry Russell shows that he had two daughters: the one in the females age 5 to 10 column would be Louise Emmeline; the one in the age 10 to 15 columns would have to have been Harriet even though she was actually only 9 in 1840. There is no other daughter ever been proposed as this one. Another 3rd daughter (Martha Angeline) would not be born until 1842. This supports that Henry ultimately did have 3 daughters, rather than only the two shown in his family unit in 1850.
Harriet first married Elijah Seneker on 11 May 1854 in Greene County Tennessee, and with him she bore 10 children:
     Albert Loren Seneker (1855-1855)
     Nancy Amanda Seneker Tanner (1856-1930)
     James Elijah "Bud" Seneker (1858-1953)
     Martha Jemima Seneker (1861-1880)
     John Thomas Seneker (1863-1920)
     Alonzo "Lon" Adolphus Seneker (1865-1945)
     William Curtis Seneker(1867-1948)
     Milburn Seneker (1869-1869)
Abbie Rella "Abarilla" Seneker Gibson (1870-1887)
Lillie / Lila Pearl Seneker (1873-1874)
Her husband Elijah died on 25 Feb 1886 in Springfield, Greene, Missouri.
On 22 Nov 1887 she remarried to George Newton Cannon at Mount Vernon Township, Lawrence, Missouri.
Though her death certificate shows her as the wife of John Cannon, deceased, her actual marriage record, which has higher probative value for the marriage, shows the groom as G. N. Cannon (discovered to be George Newton Cannon, b 19 Dec. 1819, d. 30 Jun 1901). The wedding took place 22 Nov 1887 in the bride's home in Mount Vernon Township, Lawrence County, Missouri. This is per Book E page 118 of "Lawrence County Marriages."
In the "Fountain & Journal" June 4, 1896, this short announcement appeared: "Old Mrs. Cannon (Mrs. Seneker) who lived in "this" neighborhood 20 years, was 65 years old May 25, 1896. Has son Cirt Seneker."
The 1900 Census shows her living with her son-in-law William Tanner and daughter Amanda in Mount Vernon Township, Lawrence, Missouri. They listed her as Harriett Seneker w2 (widowed twice.) Actually her 2nd Husband, George Newton Cannon did not die until 1901. In 1900 George was living with his son's family in Webb City, Jasper, Missouri.
In the 1910 Census Harriet was living with her son Alonzo Seneker in Mount Pleasant Township, Lawrence, Missouri. Alonzo listed her as Harriet Cannon.
In the 1920 Census she was again living with her daughter, Amanda Tanner in Lockwood, Dade, Missouri. Here Amanda listed her as Harriette Cannon.
Her death certificate under the last name Cannon, shows her as daughter of Henry Russell, bp. UNK. and Patsy Susong, bp. VA. Her son, Alonzo "Lon" Seneker was the informant.
Harriett died at 7:30 p.m. from Senility.
Gravesite Details     No headstone has been found so far, though her death certificate says she was buried in Salem Cemetery on 11/29/1924 by Sarcoxie Undertaking Company, Sarcoxie.
