ARTHUR GRANT of Citty of Bristoll, Mariner, scituate and being in the Freshes of Rappa River and on the North side thereof and abuting and bounding on a Plantation of sd ARTHUR SPICER comonly called and knowne by the name of POPLAR NECK and on the land of JOHN PAYNE and from thence on a Swamp called IRELAND on the sd land of JAMES TRENT and from thence up the head branches of CHARLES BEAVER DAM wch sd land is to the Neighbourhood generally knowne and called by the name of WARRENS LAND and for as much as sd land was by sd GRANT conveyed together with Deeds Patents Pachmts. And now forasmuch as Robert Brent in his Qualification as attorney of Arthur Spicer as afsd did by his bill here in Court produced justly make appear his said debt to be due as afsd and Richard Gibson in whose hands the attachment was served did not appear in Court to say anything in Barr or Preclusion of the Premises Therefore tic ordered that Arthur Spicer shall have Judgment by Nil dicit for the said sum against the Estate of James Bland soe attached in the hands of Richard Gibson with costs ,

Peale to be served upon your Petitioner for one thousand pounds of Tobacco in his hands of the Estate of JAMES BLANDE late of this County and when the sheriff served the said attachment your Petr did then tell the sheriff that he had not any of the said Blands Estate in his hands but that the said Blande stood considerably in debt to your Petr but what return the sheriff made your Petitioner is informed that there is not only a Judgment but an Execution against your Petitioners body and now is ready to lay him in Prison when in Truth all accounts debts and Suite of Law was concluded and agreed a considerable time before the date of the said attachment Therefore humbly Prays this worshipful Court to take a review back into these Proceedings and the case considered whereby he may be releived from this oppression.

     Nancy Vaught married Jacob Catron 26 Nov 1857. Jacob was born about 1823 and died 29 July 1897.
     Nancy applied for a Confederate Widow's Pension in 1907. She stated that Jacob had served as a guard for the Confederacy under Capt. Josiah Brown during the last years of the war.
     From SW VA Enterprise, Wytheville, VA, Dec 29, 1914: Mrs. Nancy Catron passsed away last Wednesday at her home near Lebanon Church at the age of eighty-seven. She had been in declining health for sometime an her death was not unexpected. The deceased is survived by several children. The funeral service was held Friday and the interment was in St. Paul's Cemetery.
     Four of the children: Frances V., Sarah C., Albert V. or N., and Margaret, perhaps others.
